Wow wow wow - l hadn’t been here to the newly named and operated restaurant since it was named bostaurus (not sure if I’ve spelt that correctly)…back then it was fantastic and l must say it’s only got better. With many different seating arrangements inside, upstairs and the newly furnished vibrant beer garden out the back, there’s a seating for everyone’s taste. Staff are very welcoming and happy which makes for a very comfortable and relaxed dining or drinking experience. We chose to sit on the lounge’s adjacent to the stairs which lead upstairs as there was more privacy for our lunch meeting. The menu is creative, tasteful & well priced. I actually found the pricing here to be better than the surrounding pubs if this gives you any scope on things. Our table ordered entrees which consisted of vegetable spring rolls which had a Vietnamese twist, chicken wings, mixed grilled vegetables & croquettes. All dishes came out well presented, fresh and had flare. A nice fresh bottle of local Pinot Grigio and some local beers accompanied the dishes which was a great choice. For main meals l ordered the Seafood Linguine which l must say was so well done that l would get it straight away. Other main meals chosen were the squid dish (which is very spicy 🌶️) prawn dumpling (so flavoursome and refreshing) and the pepperoni pizza which was so crispy, hot & fresh. With another bottle of Chardonnay ordered it was time to tuck on in. Amazing food, amazing presentation and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Can not recommend dining at Anvil highly enough. A friend and I (mature aged ladies) wanted a nice meal and an opportunity to catch up. The atmosphere was perfect. Great to see that there are multiple different areas which suit any type of dining experience. We enjoyed our meal in the downstairs dining area, there are several small nooks for a romantic dinner, a gorgeous outdoor area for relaxed dining and then a fabulous upstairs bar and area, often with music at your disposal to eat drink and dance the night away. For me, this experience was all about the food. OUTSTANDING is all I can say!!! We shared Sashimi Kingfish with a drizzle of ponzu, sesame oil and garnished with radish and micro herbs, Caciocavallo - Italian hand stretched cheese fried, served with water chestnuts and beer jelly, Prosciutto and Parmesan croquettes served with chive and pepper mayo, Marinated Calamari served with grilled pineapple salsa, pickled celeriac and toasted bread and lastly prawn and ginger handmade dumplings served with nuoc cham and spring onion oil. Every mouthful was absolutely delicious. Congratulations to the young chef and co-owner, Troy with Marc and David making up the ownership team, delivering perfect service and food. As ,"Molly Meldrum" would say .... Do yourself a favour. EAT HERE. You won't be disappointed.

We came in here for dinner and had a great pizza and really enjoyed the place! They had about 10 beers on taps, including from other local and regional breweries, and we saw lots of cocktails going out as well. We loved it, and definitely recommend a visit if passing through. We both loved their mid-strength beer -- it was so refreshing and had a good mix of fruit to it. Perfect for the hot summer days without being too heavy! When we originally looked at the rating here we were surprised until I noticed all the low ratings seemed to be in a 24 hour period, and thus a targeted effort to discredit the venue. Sad to see this happening to a business who is clearly doing all the right things! Ignore these and pop in to support!

My husband and I had to wait 45-50 mins plus for our meals to arrive. I ordered a pizza and my husband ordered soup. After half an hour, my husband went to the bar and asked how much longer it was going to take before our meals would be served. The upstart waitress said within 10 mins. She walks by us serving others and I said it’s now 15 mins since you said the meals will arrive. She made some lame excuse there was a big group before us that had to be served. I said why hasn’t the soup been served yet. She rolled her eyes and said sorry with a smirk on her face that had more piercings than a pin cushion. The sight of her face made me feel I was part of a horror movie. When the food arrived, my pizza dough was uncooked. See photos. I ate some of the crusts and left the rest. Unfortunately you had to pay up front before you receive your meal. We left hungry, totally disappointed and angry. Also the place had concrete floors which amplified people’s voices and the sound of utensils on metal dishes. I felt I was...
