Mansfield Bakery — Restaurant in Victoria

Tallish blond woman was rude and dismissive.

Initially a good vibe about the place. Ordered a fair few items around 2.20pm on a Saturday 24. Ordered my seven year old a salami sandwich - which the older of the two young women serving us didn’t say anything about. We assumed it was a normal sandwich.

About one bite into it, my daughter said it was spicy. Which was fine, had a look. It was made with hot salami. Our fault for not double checking, but at the same time, the item said ‘salami’ on the description. Nothing about being spicy.

Went back to order a sausage roll. And mentioned to the woman who served us that we weren’t aware it was spicy so I’d need to order a sausage roll. She said ‘ right okay’. I asked if there were any non spicy rolls. She said they were all spicy - like I was meant to know…. At the end of the purchase I mentioned that she probably should have told us Before we purchased it that it was spicy as she saw my young daughter point it out and due to potential allergies and so on that it could have ended badly.

Her response was ‘yeah, right’. She was very, very dismissive and rude. No apology, nothing. She was just trying to move me on.

Would love to have a chance to speak to her manager. We are simply passing through and it would have been great if she could have put her attitude somewhere else instead of being like...

The rudest customer service I have ever experienced. We purchased a coffee from a place down the street and then seen the bakery and thought we we also stop there and get the kids a toasties and support another small local business We were then approached by a old worker who told us we couldn’t bring outside coffee and we were rude for doing it and pointed to a sign that we didn’t see, We explained that we still bought food from here He then started being aggressive saying we spent more money at the other place like everything is all about money to him! He continued to speak down to us and call us rude when we said if he said it politely we would have just apologised and he turned around and said I don’t need to be polite to you.

If you want half decent customer service do not go here! Spend your money anywhere else so you know you will be treated with respect and kindness instead of rude money...

I always passed by Mansfield Bakery and noticed it was super busy, so one day I finally stopped in to see what the fuss was about. I picked a gluten-free brownie—it was okay, not too sweet, soft, and decent. Honestly, nothing mind-blowing but still enjoyable. They do have a huge selection of cakes and pastries though, which makes it fun to browse. Just a solid local spot, not a must-visit but not bad either.
