George & Al Roy Cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

Very disappointed with the food quality and customer service. We decided to dine in for dinner and enjoy some burgers. 2 of the items we were excited for were out of stock, then when the other meals came, 3 chicken burgers were very pink. We kindly let the staff know and they were not friendly in response. They told us that it was fine (was clearly very raw, pink) and said they can not cook any replacements. After consulting one another they said they would cook us something else each to replace the meal. We said 2 x cheeseburgers and 1 x chips to replace the meal in which they agreed to. The chips came straight away and then we spent the next 40 minutes waiting for the burgers. We asked if the burgers were on their way and the staff said that had not made anything and thought the chips would be enough. This was seemingly in spite due to us returning the chicken burgers. Burgers were very expensive for the quantity of food given. I had the ASL chicken burger which had a tiny chicken thigh that was over cooked, definitely not worth $19, especially when you have to pay $5 more for a couple of fries. Instead we had to order a large share fries of which there were about 20. Staff were not inherently rude, but I definitely wouldn’t describe them as friendly, they didn’t look happy to have us. I would not go back for a second visit.

Loved it! Tried these guys the other day, my daughter and partner were horse riding so my son and I had lunch there. 2 Roy Al's and chips.. Definitely super tasty, my son said it was in his top 5 for burgers places we've tried and we like to try different burger joints a lot. I took my partner and daughter back after their horse riding session - they had a halloumi burger, fried cauliflower and chips. They also loved theirs.. I'm not sure about all the bad reviews, our experience was something very different. It's not cheap, but not much is these days. Only complaint is it's too far from my house.
