The Fields — Restaurant in Victoria

Food was alright, I didn’t like anything from the menu so I got a pizza next door while my other 2 friends ordered something from their menu. We were coming down from mt Buller, everyone was hungry so I thought of eating my takeaway pizza and waitress lady appears out of nowhere just to rudely tell me off that I can’t eat that pizza in the restaurant and just walks off. Chill down guys, customers are there for just 30 minutes and you are supposed to give them good experience. Your staff could have asked nicely too. Your reply explains your professionalism. Calling a customer who spent $80 a squatter? Keep this public, don’t edit or delete your response.(Edit- Not only I have been out to restaurants, I have been a restaurant manager myself for almost 2 years and trust me, you guys own the restaurant but you don’t know anything about hospitality. The Fields is one of the best Asian fusion restaurants which I have ever been to. From the locals or someone coming to Mansfield for a weekend trip, The Fields will have something to offer for the whole family or even if you are going with your partner for a romantic meal. The ambiance and amazing tunes will make you relax and enjoy the amazing food and cocktails which they have to offer. The staff are on point and will make sure all your dietary needs are met. The food is absolutely to die for , and the cocktails are amazingly delicious. They use a variety of different spirits, some very small and unique which makes them something you may never had previously tried before, e.g. Mandarita: with mandarin liquor!!! Pick of the food for me would be the Beef Cheek. Falls apart in your mouth and the flavours are absolutely mouth watering. Having tried a lot of their menu there is not a single thing on the menu which I wouldn’t recommend. Rating 5/5...but...

The food was amazing and we all really enjoyed it. The service definitely left me a little underwhelmed. After we found out we accidental booked seating at the counter we requested if a table was available as there was 3 of us and were told none were available, however there were multiple tables inside and outside the entire time we were there that we could have been sitting on so it was difficult to enjoy the sharing food and conversation as we were not on a table. The waiter also removed the food from the table and asked about dessert while I was still eating my main meal and could not continue to keep eating and the food was taken away without asking which seemed rude and like they were rushing us out the door.
