3.7. Nice little deli on Heidelberg road. It has a modest street presence. The sign is very small and I hadn’t realised the place was there until recently. The deli has a modern fit out. There’s just a few tables here but quite few stools along the edge of the deli. The place has a nice warm feel. It has a small range of deli items and snacks plus good bread, cakes etc. There’s a small grocery section as well. My long black coffee here was very good. It challenges for best coffee in the area, I think. My brisket pastrami toastie with pickles and cheese was very good as well. Not large but very tasty. Good place. ...

I stumbled across this wonderful café last year, which I noticed whilst sitting in an adjacent café that had forgotten to place my food order. It looked busy and seemed to have a great vibe. The following day I thought I would give them a try and have never looked back. They make hands down the best poached eggs on the planet, served with flair and with a killer long black. I cannot fault anything at this lovely cafe, from the superb staff to the wonderful atmosphere. It's pretty obvious that the locals love coming here. I am not a local, but pop in en route to work. I have tried others in the area, but nothing comes...

Coffee is good, however it’s disappointing to see how little cream cheese goes on their brisket English muffins; compared to the mustard ratio anyway. Arthur street deli doesn’t meet my expectations for cream cheese.

Not like it was in the “good old days” unfortunately.

Edit: I went back in today, and they recognised my order and name which is nice, and shows they're looking at feedback. The cream cheese ratios were improved, elevating the english muffins rating. I hope this is standard.

Coffee...

The food never misses. The Pizza they do for lunch is freshly made with beautiful ingredients, 2 generous slices - and every one we have tried has been great. All the other sandwiches, baguettes etc use really good ingredients. The staff are so friendly, and the outside chairs are strong and comfortable (many aren't - those metal ones so many places have are awful). And they do happen to do our favourite coffee - crema and complex flavour in the long black is the best near us.

A spontaneous and first time visit to this establishment - a nicely presented and welcoming cafe. A good selection of food options. The staff member who served me was not particularly friendly. I had an upset stomach in the evening and the only thing I consumed that day came from Arthur Street but difficult to say it was because of this. I don’t think this should deter future guests. I was hoping to return with my husband but highly unlikely due to the unfriendly welcome.
