Just what we needed on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, highly recommend the trip to Brighton (even on a Saturday at peak time coming from Alphington 🤣❤️).
The ambience is so gorgeous - just a beautiful small cafe with wholesome vibes right next to the train station - if I lived on this train line I would get off to get the matcha and cookies everyday!
We ordered the downtown matcha which was amazing, super yum and sweet if you like sweet matcha! My partner loved his coffee and gluten free chicken ceaser bagel, and my everything bagel with cream cheese was soooo tasty and flavourful despite it being a pretty standard bagel, I was really impressed! The New York cookie was to die for, warm and hit the sport with our drinks, and we got a piece of chocolate cake to have for dessert tonight that looks so good we might not be able to wait!
We were also so blown away by the beautiful service we received today, I am so sorry I didn’t get her name but the wonderful blond mum who served us was just a breath of fresh air and so helpful and didn’t rush us at all despite how popular this place is! She made...

The gentleman making the bagel was too busy discussing his upcoming holiday with the kitchen staff and another gentleman staff member was too busy talking about his recent tummy troubles with the barista to complete the order in a reasonable time frame. Accented by a disingenuous “sorry for the wait” once the staff members realised how slow the order had been didn’t create a great overall experience.
Worth reminding the staff that in a small establishment the customer can hear and see everything.
I genuinely hope the boss reads this, as it is a great spot with great potential but sometimes we need to hire good workers not just...
Read moreWandering down Church Street on Friday morning we spotted a sign for the new Bakehouse cafe and fancied trying the coffee. We left with four cookies, two bagels and a couple of coffees.
Pleased to report that the cookies were sensational - huge but incredibly tasty, fresh and light ! The red velvet in particular was my stand out. My partner prefered the good old fashioned choc chip. The bagels, freshly made on site, were a big surprise - very light but extremely tasty. The coffees also get a big tick - good taste, milk textured perfectly and the ideal temperature.
Staff were terrific and although it's only recently opened it seems popular as there was a constant stream of customers.
Highly recommended - and...
