Tucked away in the heart of Brighton, the White Rabbit Café is a local treasure that blends charm, creativity, and consistently outstanding food and coffee. From the moment you walk in, the café feels warm and inviting, with its light-filled space, soft timber tones, and playful, artful décor inspired by its whimsical namesake. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger.
The coffee here is exceptional. Made with care and precision, the baristas clearly take pride in their craft. Whether you're ordering a simple flat white or exploring their rotating single-origin brews, every cup is smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. Non-dairy alternatives are available and well-frothed – oat milk lovers, you’re in luck.
White Rabbit serves a menu that’s both inventive and satisfying. Their all-day brunch options strike the perfect balance between nourishing and indulgent. The smashed avocado with beetroot hummus and dukkah is a standout, both visually stunning and full of flavour. For something heartier, the pulled pork eggs Benedict is a showstopper, marrying slow-cooked meat with silky hollandaise and perfectly poached eggs. Vegan and gluten-free options are well-catered for, and nothing feels like an afterthought.
The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even during busy weekend brunch rushes, service is efficient and gracious. They know their menu and are happy to make recommendations.
The vibe is relaxed and stylish, with a mix of locals, families, and coffee connoisseurs. It’s ideal for a casual catch-up, a solo coffee with a book, or even a remote work session (Wi-Fi is fast and reliable). There's also outdoor seating, perfect for people-watching on sunnier days.
The White Rabbit Café is a Brighton favourite for all the right reasons – impeccable coffee, inspired food, and thoughtful service in a beautiful setting. It’s not just a café; it’s an experience that invites you to slow down and savour. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this is one place you won't...

We came with another couple for dinner on a warm Saturday evening. The restaurant was 75% empty. We were shown to our table. We waited for about ten minutes, but nobody came over to our table. So, we HAD TO ASK a waitress to please bring us menus?
We ordered a Margherita Pizza to share, and the Scotch Fillets for our main meals.
The others ordered drinks, while I only asked for ice cubes to put in my glass of water. A while later the waitress came back to inform one of the ladies in our party that, “There is NO Ginger Ale" for the Cocktail she ordered in a TALL glass. So, she agreed to accept Lemonade instead of the Ginger Ale for her LONG Cocktail. A while later the waitress brought her a “SMALL Cocktail in a SHORT glass”? We gave the Short Drink back and HAD TO ASK FOR the LONG Cocktail in a TALL glass that was ordered.
After waiting a further long period, my ice cubes STILL HAD NOT arrived. So, I HAD TO ASK the waitress to please bring me the ice that I requested.
Then the waitress came over to inform us that, “There was NO Scotch Fillet”??? We asked why it had taken so long after our order to tell us there was NO Scotch Fillet? The waitress replied, “We are very busy”. (allow me to remind readers that the restaurant was 75% EMPTY!!) We were VERY annoyed!!
Then, after waiting for MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR, the Margherita Pizza finally arrived…It was COLD??
The waitress brought back the menus and said we could order something else for our main meals…..but we were so annoyed that we did not want to order anything more.
We paid for our COLD Pizza and left the restaurant.
So disappointing and VERY annoying!! A TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE dining experience all round, therefore we...
Read moreI went to Brighton to look around and to find somewhere to people watch with a drink and relax in the Sun. After walking around for a while I come across this place with 2 friendly faces talking outside a cute little restaurant set in a building that used to be an old bank.
I stop to look at the menu and decide to stay for a drink.
It is a lovely relaxed and casual but yet very professional restaurant with a menu that is well priced for the area. They do not have happy hour or certain days for particular dishes (steak night, burger night etc) in other words, they do not pretend to be something they are not.
I watched it fill up late afternoon and by 7,30pm it was just about done.
The waitress ( I didn't get her name) a bright and bubbly little pocket rocket 😂 was lovely and super friendly. The owner was nothing but professional, friendly, straight down the line and after 14 years in the same spot, it appears he knows most of the locals and seems to be very liked.
The restaurant is nice, clean, well presented and quite cosy although I would have liked to see one or two tables with more comfortable seats inside, for times like today, as I found the trains to be extremely loud and interruptive. If I would have been there with friends it would have been very difficult for us to have a continuous conversation as my vocal cords have been damaged and my voice just gets drowned out with noise.
As mentioned earlier I came in and only had 2 drinks but I am absolutely coming back for the food because what I saw...
