We booked to dine here on Valentine’s Day as our usual go to in Doncaster was fully booked. What a mistake we made. We reserved the table - when we got there they seemed to struggle with locating our reservation. Then we sat down at a table, ordered. The water and the wine glass took forever to come - even though the water was just kept behind our table half way thru the meal even though we asked 3 times. The environment was so crowded and so noisy. During the time the staff helped us cook the chicken, she didn’t have enough experience to know to cut the chicken into smaller pieces - chicken quickly burnt. I mentioned that the chicken looks quite burnt, not sure how we could eat that. The staff never apologised, Instead she chose to ignore that comment and ignored us with a hostile attitude for the remaining of the cooking. She also wasted 4 big pieces of chicken while she tried removing the meat into a bowl for us, one piece fell into the cooking pan. She saw it, but didn’t say a word or apologised - just pretending she never saw it. At the end, when we finished with the food, the staff removed the cooking pan and tray, she ended up spraying some hot oil - and the boiling hot pan got so close next to the girl sitting on the table next to us, she could have got burnt too. When we were looking where to pay at the end, we were searching at the entrance as we thought that’s where you pay - we got yelled at loudly ā€œpayment over hereā€. The staff at the payment counter asked ā€œhow’s your foodā€ but simply just didn’t let me finish answering that, and just asked us to pay. Staff was very rude and felt like she was thinking we were going to leave without paying??? Overall bad service. There are so many K BBQ places in Melbourne and this is the worst one I’ve ever been to. Will not be coming back and will tell anyone we know not to come here again. Your staff needs training on every aspect in hospitality.

First Korean BBQ of the year starting strong at @bbqk.boxhill located at the bottom of the Box Hill towers. With an extensive menu, there's something for everyone. . 🦪 Oysters šŸœ Japchae with Seafood 🄩 Angus Beef Set for 2 🄣 + Soybean Soup šŸ— Korean Fried Chicken šŸ· Milkis + Souju . 🦪 Starting with amazing oysters, wow! Garnished with tabasco, a raspberry vinegar sorbet and roe. A tangy non-spicy explosion of yum. . 🄩 Flaming hot charcoal smoked our delicious melt in your mouth cuts of beef. We had the Angus beef set with scotch fillet, boneless ribs and oyster blade. There was also beef bulgogi on the side. The BBQ set was served with all the sides we love and a trio of dips, including teriyaki and flavoured salt. But also rice and soup, we chose the soybean soup which was not too salty and just right. . šŸ— Deep fried and delicious chicken was a crowd pleaser with a trio of sauces including honey mustard, and soy garlic (none spicy). Served with pickled radish. . The staff were friendly and service was quick during the dinner service with a line on a Tuesday night. Love that they do help you cook unlike many places. Tip - Do make a booking and request a window seat, if dining during the day. 🄩 Thanks @bbqk.boxhill for an amazing feast! šŸ“Box Hill šŸŽ #invite

I’m writing a review after years but this warrants one. Given I just paid $135 for my little family of 3 (husband, 7 yr old daughter and self). The good things- The ambience is lively. The wait staff are very polite and efficient. The worst bit- The manager who told us minute we entered that since ā€˜it’s a weekend’, we can be seated for max 75min. (She could’ve told this when I called to book). We were okay with that. But it’s midway through our meal, when we realised how they were wanting to rush things. All driven by this manager who even came and told us (even when we had good 15 left) that people were waiting and we should wrap up. We had to tell her we had 15mins left and that we had ordered dessert 10mins prior that was yet to come. It was utter chaos post 6:30 PM and it seemed like she cared more about meeting higher volumes than the current dine in guests. It ruined our entire experience as a result. We’ve been treated better at high volume restaurants where meals cost not more than $60-80. We expected basic, respectful service from a premium dinner cost. We may not visit again. Esp on a TGIF!
