Sunday 230 pm
This is not how you treat a customer and I am really upset of what happened.
I decided to have late lunch and some bingsu in Bek. I love their mango bingsu.
As we arrived at the Bek, My 4 yr old son wanted to use the toilet, he was a bit unsettled. The toilet was engaged so, my son went outside, his usual sitting place, as he loved looking at the pigeons. The person using the toilet went out, then I called my son to have a go, but then, there was already 2 customers ahead of him to use the toilet, he was unsettled and looking for his dad, who went to Aldi to do some grocery runs. A gray haired lady approach me saying that toilet is for customers only.
The lady wanted me to order first as there are 2 people in cue for toilet. I have an intention to place an order as I did not have lunch, I already have the menu in my hand and there was also 1 customer ahead of me in the counter.
My son was so unsettled, looking for his dad and toilet so I decided to call his dad and find a toilet in Aldi.
As we went outside ,in the car park this gray haired Lady ( not sure if she is staff or maybe the owner of Bek) called us and said toilet is for customers only, next time use the public toilet if you dont want to order..
I was so angry, to start with my son did not even use the toilet, he was unsetteld & I was hungry that I told her I have plans to order as I have not eaten lunch but I need to settle my son..
That is not how you treat a customer. I love your mango Mingled bingsu, and honestly I was craving for that dessert but what happened is a turned off..
EDITED: As I cannot add a thread after your response
I was hungry and your menu has savoury.. When we arrive at Edgewater. My 4 yr old son was already unsettled as he wants to go. I ADMIT we immediately rush to the toilet, as I am concern with accidents. My daughter wanted an aldi special thats the reason why they left and go to Aldi.
I have an intention to eat. If you reviewed your cctv, you can see that I already put my coat into 1 of your chair. But my son was looking for his dad. He is starting to make a scene.
It was a big Nooo and a turned off to approach a potential customer in the carpark yelling about toilet use.. As a restaurant owner you just dont sell food, you also sell an experience and I find my experience horrible.
If you think that may intention was to use your toilet without ordering a food. THEN I would just went to Dessert By Night which is within the edgewater premise. They are already open at that time as it was 2:30 pm. Dessert by Night has 2 toilet cubicles with better space and aesthetics compared to Bek.. I have also use Dessert by Night toilet before prior to ordering food, IT WAS never an ISSUE with them. I dont even have to ask for keys.
If you think that you must lock your toilet then no one is stopping you to do so.
A sincere apology would...
Read moreIf you’re coming for dessert, it’s fine. But if you’re here for brunch or main dishes — RUN!
I first tried this restaurant when it had just grand opened a few years ago. I also have a friend who used to work there. He told me the ownership changed after Covid-19. Since then, the portion sizes have noticeably decreased, and the prices are way too high for what you actually get.
I was shocked when we walked in on a Friday night at 7:30 PM and found only four people inside — including my partner and me. But it all made sense once the food arrived. The presentation was extremely plain and uninspiring.
My partner ordered the Triple Brie Burger — a dish he had enjoyed before — but this time it was completely different in both taste and appearance. I didn’t take a photo, but honestly, it looked worse than a Big Mac from McDonald’s.
We paid $18 for Nem Chua Rán, and it tasted absolutely nothing like real Nem Chua Rán. Then $20 for the Grilled Baby Octopus, and the smell of frozen seafood was overwhelming — even though they tried to cover it up with lemongrass marinade. I couldn't finish the drink so I asked for a takeaway cup. The funny thing is, they even charged 50cent for that. Is it because the restaurant was empty so you try to charge everything you can just to cover up expenses?
The bingsu and some desserts are so so (but small portion), but even they look noticeably different from how they used to under the previous owner.
According to my friend, the old owner used to care deeply about the restaurant. They visited daily to ensure both food quality and service were up to standard. Unfortunately, the current owner seems much less involved and...
Read moreOngoing product inconsistencies each and every time I visit. On the first instance, wrong orders were being brought to our table. I was then shown the receipt only to have to clarify it wasn’t ours resulting in more delays with receiving our correct order. On a separate visit, after excessive delays, we had received our desserts but there were missing ingredients only for us to flag this with them and then were told they didn’t have any in stock. On a previous occasion, we also ordered the same drinks which we get each time and the cup sizes were a lot smaller than usual. In querying this was on another visit, I was told that the staff member that made the drinks was new but at the same time, we were short changed because of their error. The male staff member told me that I had already received free drinks on my last visit which was never the case downplaying my concerns to which I had to then clarify it was on a prior occasion as a result of the desserts being made incorrectly. They are happy to throw things back in your face down the track despite their ongoing errors. I have alerted the team to this and they have opted to ignore my...
