BELLEZZA – 1413 Malvern Road Malvern
Seriously Good Food – Super Friendly
Time to celebrate my father’s Christmas always means trying to find somewhere nice for dinner and this year we wanted something local that we had not tried previously.
A search led me to Bellezza in Malvern and we are very glad that we gave it a try. I believe they have been around for about 13 years and you could see they have made a local impact by the greetings as locals came in for their dinner. The team is very friendly and you feel welcome.
So, how about the food you ask? Excellent is the answer. This was a very enjoyable meal.
We began by not sharing (you definitely need one each) the Wild Mushroom Tart, made with mixed wild mushroom, mascarpone, crispy caramel panko and parmesan in a shortcrust tart. A small bite to get the taste buds warmed up with beautiful flavours.
We did share the Saganaki, seared aged Greek cheese, lemon zest, pickled cucumber & carrot which is always a good option.
The Gnocchi Gorgonzola was fabulous. Hand-rolled potato gnocchi, creamy gorgonzola, baby spinach and dried figs that all melted in your mouth.
I got a little brave and went for the Ocean’s Claypot. A risotto style dish with prawns, mussels, scallops, calamari and a rich Napoli sauce, baked in a claypot to perfection. I don’t normally go for risotto but I am so very glad I did on this occasion. The Napoli sauce is divine and the seafood was cooked perfectly. This is a very special dish that I look forward to eating again.
A simple garden salad completed the mains as a side dish. It was fresh and crisp.
I enjoyed a classical light and smooth Chocolate Mousse and my partner went for the Lemon Meringue tart (the dessert special for the evening) which she absolutely loved.
Bellezza is a good find and worth another visit or two. You will be welcomed warmly and will not leave hungry or...
Read moreWe enjoyed a pleasant family dinner at this local restaurant in Malvern. The decor was classy with a quiet ambience. The menu had a variety of western dishes, but several with an Asian influence. Our party shared a selection of entrees including the kingfish carpaccio, scallops four ways and pork belly. All were beautifully presented and delicious. Our mains consisted of several pasta dishes with the scallop taglioni and the seafood clay pot (risotto) the standouts. There were also a selection of meat dishes on the menu which we didn’t try. The desserts we ordered were the panna cotta, apple crumble and cheesecake ……. Yummy! There was a good selection of beer, quality wines and cocktails on the drinks menu to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful and service efficient. A great place to dine on a night out with family or friends or for a...
Read moreI didn't know there was such thing as an Australian restaurant, and wasn't sure what to expect. The food was decent, the highlight being the seafood Risotto. Pork crackle had a nice crunch, although I'd say it is 70% fat - would prefer a leaner cut. For the price though, I wouldn't say the menu is worth.
Ambience and setting is nice, although we noticed the venue attracts primarily a much older audience, and wouldn't recommend this place to younger groups looking for something exciting.
Service was standard, and there was a 30 minute wait on the food being served which was an unsettling wait. But I did appreciate that all the food was served at the same time.
Overall if you can tolerate the minor negatives mentioned, this place...
