Tucked away on Playne Street in the heart of Frankston, Betty’s Burgers offers a casual but slightly polished take on the classic burger joint. Part of a national chain, the Frankston store carries the same beach-shack vibe you’ll find at their other locations — bright colours, relaxed décor, and a lively atmosphere that feels welcoming whether you’re there for a quick bite or a casual sit-down meal.
The menu is straightforward but varied enough to suit most tastes. Their Betty’s Classic and Betty’s Deluxe are the go-to options, with juicy beef patties, soft buns, and a tangy house sauce that ties everything together. For those who want something different, the Crispy Chicken Burger is crunchy and satisfying, and the Noosa Classic Surf (a beef burger topped with battered prawns) is one of their more adventurous offerings. Vegetarians and lighter eaters aren’t left out either, with plant-based patties and “bare” lettuce-wrapped versions available.
Sides include golden fries, onion rings, and loaded variations — though portion sizes can feel a little small for the price. Thick shakes and concretes (frozen custard desserts with mix-ins) round out the menu, and are often a hit with kids and families.
Service at the Frankston branch is usually friendly and upbeat. Staff are quick to greet and the food generally comes out promptly. Like many busy casual dining spots, though, it can get noisy during peak times, and you might wait longer for meals when the restaurant fills up.
Pricing is a point of debate. Burgers average around $15–$20, and with sides and a drink it’s easy to push over $25 per person. While many customers feel the quality and atmosphere justify the extra spend compared to fast food chains, others leave feeling it’s a bit steep for what is essentially a dressed-up burger.
Overall, Betty’s Burgers in Frankston delivers on its promise of fresh, tasty burgers in a fun and relaxed setting. It’s not fine dining, and it doesn’t claim to be, but when everything clicks — a well-cooked burger, crispy sides, and one of their indulgent shakes — it can feel like money well spent. If you go in expecting a casual, slightly up-market burger experience rather than a budget meal, chances are you’ll...
Read moreDecided to give Betty’s burgers a go as it’s relatively new to the Frankston area. At first entrance it’s a nice little Venue, no table service it’s order and buzzer system which ok, staff there all seem quite young besides the chef. Ah the food the food the food… we bought 3 burgers 2 servings of onion rings and a serving of fries, the total ran up to $80+ and I have to honestly say it’s not worth the money. We waited roughly 20 minutes for our food , which isn’t too bad if everything was cooked fresh , however the chips and onion rings were cold, it’s as if they were cooked first and then sat waiting for 15 minutes for our burgers to be done. I got the double betty , which is essentially a double cheeseburger with bacon . It cost $17.5 on its own. It was like a failed attempt at a smash burger to be honest, lacked a nice crust on the patty and was relatively flavourless , the sauce carried the burger on this and it was standard tomato and mustard. The bacon was neither good nor bad , some bits were crispy other bits quite soft, chef seems a little confused on textures at this point. Coz after eating half the burger it all started to really mush together. Pretty dissatisfied. We also got chicken burger. Thought we’d try it just incase it was more of a chicken burger place, boy they’re not. Texture wise and appearance based the burger was good. Taste wise it was literally stock standard. The chicken was cooked nicely wasn’t to dry but it just had no flavour, tastes like the chicken is coming frozen pre battered , and if that’s the case then they should change their supplier to someone who knows how to season chicken. The bun and the sauce yet again carried this burger. Again none of the food was inedible, but for $80 you would expect a level of quality that just wasn’t met. Overall I’d rate the food 4/10 middle of the road not horrible but...
Read moreWent in on Tuesday 2/9/25, ordered a burger and a drink, then some fries. All good, the food was great, except the girl serving had a very bad attitude. She'd forgotten to give me my drink and when I'd asked for it, she'd handed it to me from the fridge with an angry look on her face, no eye contact, it made me feel horrible. Just before that, a seagull strolled into the shop and it really seemed to set her off when I threw a bit of my burger bun to the hungry bird. A guy sitting nearby eating his chips was about to give it one of his chips when she came over and angrily told us not to feed it, as apparently it's gone into the kitchen before. She proceeded to come out and clap her hands to shoo the seagull away. A little while later, she came out to do the same thing, only clapped her hands louder, and angrier, in shooing away not only the seagull, but also a pigeon who'd wandered on in. *A note to the owner/manager of this Frankston store: If you don't want birds to go inside your store, have a screen or automatic doors installed, like most businesses do. This staff member was obviously sick and tired of this happening as she probably has to clean up the bird poo at the end of her shift. This type of thing could also have your store shut down by the Food Health Authorities if you're not careful. It might also be a good idea to have this staff member retrained in her customer service skills...
