We just visited Biang Biang recently and ordered a set menu. When it came to choosing a drink, we asked for one of the bottled drinks and were told by the young man taking our order that we just had to pay the $1 difference—which we confirmed with him at the time.
However, when we sat down and looked at the receipt, we realised we were charged for each item individually, rather than the set menu plus the drink upgrade. When we brought this up, the same staff member changed his explanation, saying that because we chose a drink from the lower shelf, the set menu no longer applied. When we reminded him that he’d told us we just had to pay the difference, he completely denied saying it. He said he would speaks to the manager, and then after a while came back and told us that since the drinks had already been opened, he refused to do anything further.
We then spoke to the lady at the front serving up the food, she was much more reasonable and offered us another drink in place of the overcharge, which we appreciated, and told us to go grab it from the counter. However, when we went back to the counter to let them know, another man came out from the kitchen and was immediately rude and dismissive. He insisted the extra charge was $2 (not $1 as originally stated), forcefully handed us $2 from the till, and wouldn’t let us explain our side at all.
Throughout this whole interaction, we stayed calm, but unfortunately the way it was handled, especially by the staff from the kitchen, was unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but in hospitality, how you resolve them matters. We appreciated the help from the lady at the front.
That said, the food itself was actually very good, which is the only reason I’m not giving this place a...

Biáng Biáng Noodle House is a Chinese eatery in the CBD specialing in hand pulled noodles and flaky Chinese Rougamo (also known as the worlds oldest burger!). The noodles are tossed in their secret 🔥spicy🔥 chilli oil.
We started with their “Chicken Pastry” (Rougamo) and loved it, the flavour in the chicken was mouthwatering and even had a heat to it. The pastry itself was really crisp and didn’t get soggy. It was smaller than I thought so if you were going for that alone you would probably need two.
Their signature Biáng Biáng Noodles with beef is not for the light hearted, it started off mild then got very spicy. The noodles are cooked to perfection, faultless. The beef is tender and falls apart, this dish is perfect to me. 👌🏽
I can never not order the dumplings, which I thought may just come in a chilli oil however they come in a sort of spicy/sour broth. I really enjoyed this and the dumplings themselves were delicious and beautifully made. 🥟
I’m not extremely versed in noodles or Chinese cuisine but I feel this is definitely one to try and also won’t break the bank, everything we ordered came to about $50. Time to satisfy your...
Read moreI came here for lunch, first time ever! been wanting to try it for a while but im a little disappointed.
When we arrived the floors were slippery, they felt oily - we went up to the front counter and the lady with the glasses asked us “what would you like to order” without giving us a chance to look so we both went for the spicy beef noodles and one of them a combo to try the pastry (which ONLY said pastry, not what type) we also wanted to order chicken/prawn soup dumplings and then she told me they only have pork and i said “oh don’t add it then, we don’t eat pork”
When our food arrived the noodles looked and smelt amazing, the beef was extremely tasty and the servings were large, then they brought out the pastry and I asked what it was and she said “pork”, I had asked if we could please get beef or just the pastry on its own as the menu didn’t specify and she just looked at me and scoffed and took it back, they brought a new one about 15 minutes later and just dropped it on the table, no apologies or eye contact, nothing.
I won’t lie the beef pastry was MORE delicious than the noodles
