Cafe Blanc — Restaurant in Melbourne

We came to the cafe almost a year ago and enjoyed it so I recommended to my friends for our catch up. The food was very nice, however I was very disappointed about service and almost embarrassed to have recommended this place to my friends.

I sat there for almost 20 mins, the young waiter didn't even come over and bring glasses for the water on our table, let alone asking me what I wanted for food or tell me if I should order at the counter. There were a few tables in the cafe but it was not busy.

Regardless of asking for glasses again when I ordered at the counter, we had to ask again for the 3rd time after our meal arrived.

I think the number one thing someone should be trained on when working in a cafe is to be a good listener to the customer request.

All that said, I must say the staff were very friendly and even offered complimentary biscuits to us..... only if they can improve listening skills more (when we asked for food for take away not dining in) it would be...

Impersonal & inattentive service. I walked in and being only their 3rd customer at the time (only one other couple In side ) No one heard me walk in even though it was dead quiet ans waited about 4 minutes before a kitchen hand came in from the back & noticed me standing at the counter only then did someine come out from the kitchen. I ordered the Sauteed scrambled eggs with added bacon. Coffee was actually ok but nothing outstanding. No one followed uo to see if everything was ok with the meal, and when I got up to leave, a staff member saw me leaving g and did not even have th courtesy to say thanks & goodbye. I felt like my presence was simply tolerated, not appreciated...Would not visit again. I went to other cafes near the Nunawading railway station during my short stay in Melbourne, and got more better service by simply buying a Takeaway Coffee at coffee ... . Should have had my weekend Breaky at Mr Robertson Instead. This...

Very disappointed. We came here because it had a 4.7☆ rating. I saw the potato topped pies when I came in and decided to try as they are my favourite! We tried to order at the register when we walked in but we were directed to take a seat. 15 minutes later a waiter came to take our order. We ordered two coffees and 2 pies. Wasn't asked if I wanted salad with the pies (I didnt) but we got it and were charged for it. Wasn't too fussed about that. The potato topped pie turned out to be some red lentil pie, not beef as I had thought. It was pretty terrible, i had to cover in sauce to eat it. Perhaps my mistake as I didn't ask. The beef pie that my partner ordered was absolutely disgusting!!! $13.50 each. :( I think the latte was OK. The long black was served in a mug and filled with water americano style... that's not how you make a long black! I saw someone else order a big breakfast...
