TURMERIC ROAST CHICKEN RICE 黄姜鶏饭 — Restaurant in Melbourne

This place is AMAZING!!! I found it when I was at the laundromat around the corner, and was looking on my map at what else was near. I ordered the turmeric roast chicken rice, and the dragonfruit with Yakult as my drink.

Both of these items tasted so incredibly delicious… I love food in general, but this was heavenly.

The chicken was succulent and perfectly cooked, the rice even on its own was so amazing and tasty, and the salad that came with it was fresh and with a delicious dressing. I was so satisfied but just wanted to keep eating more.

The dragonfruit with Yakult was a really refreshing, exciting, and delicious zingy drink 💖

Everything was presented beautifully, and I felt comfortable being a solo diner here, even though most other people were eating with a partner or their families. It was comfortably busy, so clearly this restaurant is starting to get the attention it deserves! The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Turmeric Roast Chicken Rice was a surprising find in Nunawading. While their menu is limited (but slowly expanding), what they serve is consistently delicious food prepared with passion.

☀️The sunny bits: The signature dish of turmeric roast chicken rice met all my expectations. The chicken had a delicate crispy skin and the rice was not overpowering in flavour. I couldn’t get enough of the amazing unlimited garlic chilli sauce - look for it at the main counter. The nasi lemak had a perfectly spiced sambal paired with a nostalgic Malaysian style curry chicken. Prices were very reasonable.

Ordered takeaway hainanese & tumeric chicken (very well packaged). They were both very tasty & the chicken was moist & flavoursome. The skin on the roast chicken was so delicious! The homemade chilli sauce is very spicy but made it a great addition to an already amazing dish. Would have liked 2 servings of the soup as it was delicious & needed more to tone down the spiciness of the chilli sauce (only received one).
