Oedo Sushi Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

I wrote a review for here about a year ago, and had come here many times prior. I am slightly rewriting my review to encapsulate not just the business or the food, which are wonderful by the way, but how much somewhere like Oedo can truly help. The amount of kindness and peace the lovely family here shows truly helped me grow a confidence after some extreme anxiety, and were always able to show empathy even in the smallest of encounters. If you want some lovely food at an incredibly considerate price I couldn't recommend Oedo more, and support a real family run and owned small business. Wished the food was as good as the customer service, disappointed.

Ordered a katsu chicken curry, and miso soup.

The chicken of the katsu chicken curry was sooo salty, the sauce was loaded with sauce, and the chicken serving size was tiny and barely any meat at all, same with the curry it was too salty, couldn't taste the curry much. The rice was a bit mushy as well.

The miso soup was the biggest disappointment, it didn't taste like miso soup, it lacked flavour and was basically watered down miso to the point of almost tasting like warm water, sigh.

The music was just not appropriate as well, won't come back again...

As some have said, food did not match up with what the reviews say. Below average to be honest, at least the sushi. Even for the price. Secondly - this may be a one-off, but it's still worth mentioning - I ordered a nigiri combo with various fish, but they made it with just salmon... Apparently they didn't have any other fish at the time, but didn't think to tell me about it before I paid lol.
