Tucked away in Richmond, Casa Mariotti is an authentic Roman gem that feels more like being welcomed into a family home than dining at a restaurant. It’s a true family-run business, and you can sense the pride and passion in every detail — from the warm hospitality to the meticulous care in each dish.
Every plate is crafted with quality ingredients and the kind of love that can’t be faked. I was too busy savoring the food to take many photos, but what I did capture hardly does justice to the flavors.
The Rigatoni alla Carbonara transported me straight to Rome — rich, creamy, and comforting, just like you’d expect in a Roman kitchen. The Spaghettoni Cacio e Pepe e Tartufo was luxurious and aromatic, with shaved truffle adding a decadent touch. I also tried the oven-baked cauliflower, the Porchetta con Patate al Forno (perfectly seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth tender), and ended the meal with a beautiful crostata.
Everything was seasoned to perfection, balanced in flavor, and undeniably authentic. It’s rare to find genuine Italian cooking like this in Melbourne — this is the real deal.
Casa Mariotti exceeded my expectations in every way, especially with the pasta. I’ll absolutely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic Italian experience without booking a flight to Italy. Wishing the family every success — they’ve created something truly...

The welcoming ambiance, with its bright colors and excellent lighting, makes you feel at home from the moment you step in. This family-owned gem is an extension of the warmth of a great Roman family.
The cocktails are a treat, especially the Aperol Spritz and the Espresso Mariotti, which transport you straight to Italy. I had the pleasure of sampling all their main dishes, and the pastas are exceptional, crafted with high-quality ingredients and a lot of love. Standouts include the Supplì, which tasted like what you'd find in Italy.
The service is outstanding, with the owners passionately attending to every detail, making the experience even more special. While we waited, we were graciously served some mushrooms, a testament to their warm hospitality. The dessert menu is diverse, but the Tiramisù is simply to die for.
Casa Mariotti not only excels in taste but also sets a perfect atmosphere with great Italian music playing in the background. If you want to feel like you are back in Rome, I highly recommend visiting this delightful spot.
A big thank you to the Guerrieri Mariotti family for their hospitality, attention to detail, and the genuine heart they pour into this...
Read moreI just dined at Casa Mariotti, i’m very disappointed and had high hopes for a place like this! The reality- it took us half an hour to get served, 50 minutes to get our drinks (yes just our drinks) and an hour to start eating. That to me is not acceptable despite the multiple apologises we got and they felr almost insincere as most of the time we saw staff standing around the front, when they could have spent that time serving customers. It wasn’t just us who waited so long which also was disappointing to see. I understand that they went through busy periods however even during calmer times service was very slow and poor. I do feel bad for the staff, i feel they are not set up to do well and could use a better working structure overall and doing this they could improve customer service and general service dramatically. One girl, in the black sweater we felt was very patronising and could work on customer service skills especially being in the hospitality industry. Overall too the food to me was quite average, I really wanted to have dessert here however with the amount of time we waited simply for drinks turned me off ordering anything extra. Would love to see this place thrive and hope that they take on this to improve for...
