From the moment we walked into the dimly lit, speakeasy bar, we were greeted with kindness. A bar tender who wanted to make sure that you got to experience the best of the best. He was very in tune with his customers, you could tell that he was keen for a good chin wag if you were but was also very comfortable to let you sit and take in the slow paced relaxed atmosphere. As my husband slipped down and relaxed into his chair, legs out and ankles crossed he even said ‘gosh I feel comfortable here’. With knowledge off the top of his head the bar tender was so easily able to discuss any whisky you selected from the menu. With a bowl of fresh salty crisps, it was the slow paced, smooth place you wanted to be for the night. What a great attraction for Healesville. Quite and layed back environs with Artisan beer's & delicious Cocktails, BUT, if you enjoy Wisky & Scotch, this is the place to be & with the right man behind the bar to ensure you have a fabulous experiance. Healesville is a charming country town, lovely ambiance and is generally very friendly and welcoming.

It was incredibly unexpected to find one of Australia's best whiskey bars here but Brendan and Mark not only are incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable with their whiskeys but can also make a mean whiskey sour and fit a whiskey to you better than a Saville Row tailor can fit you a suit.

Would I come back? Honestly Cavanagh's would be the main reason I would come back to Healesville and if you don't order a Pickle Back to the Future you've missed out on one of the truely great experiences...
