The food was okay and probably would have been better if not for the service.
The service initially was okay but not off to a great start as the lady working there seemed like she was off with the fairies. She took my partners order (a meal for one person) then walked off, I was standing at the counter after my partner and then the lady looked a couple of times, then eventually came up and asked if I wanted to order and seemed super confused... Nah I just wait at the counter for no reason?
My partner had asked for gravy with her food, she got chicken and chips. I got a lamb gyros pack with chips & salad. Not only did they forget my partner's gravy that was a few dollars extra (the lady even asked her and pointed to what size she wanted, small medium or large), but they forgot tzatiki for the gyro pack OR there was an expectation to pay extra for it which wasn't really mentioned or asked.
So naturally was very disappointed to open it and find out it was missing tzatiki and the grazy which was extra. We were already really hungry, hangry even so couldn't be arsed driving even 5 minutes back to get sauces for food that'd be cold by then. At least it gave us the chance to try the food without being reliant on the sauce and yeah, it wasn't that great. The meat wasn't enough to redeem the meal and the chips were soggy (we only drove about 5 minutes home and had the meal in an insulated bag to keep it warm). The meat had flavour but just didn't really have anything special over other charcoal chicken and souvlaki joints. My partner found the chicken was very dry, also didn't like the chips much and we agreed we'd never eat there again. Who forgets or doesn't offer tzatiki with a lamb gyro/souvlaki pack? Even Hella Good gives...

Ordered 1/4 chicken, chips and salad. I asked for half potato salad and half greek salad. We dined in and I noticed they only put potato salad. They got my order wrong.
The chicken was dry, so badly. My partner said the same thing. We would have been happy to pay the price if the chicken was nice and tender.
They gave us fresh chips to try and cover up the old chicken..
The customer that came after us got fresh chicken because he was a regular there.
They are not interested in those who are from other suburbs/areas.
My partner and I always go to Huntingdale and we are definitely not coming back to this charcoal chicken shop.
Just because someone wanted to get rid of old waste they are losing out on money because we would have been regulars too.

Not one review is over exaggerating when they said this was the best charcoal chicken. I’ve come a few times before wanting to leave a review and and every time the quality of chicken, chips and salad are always fresh ! You can tell they use good quality produce and tonight I even tried their home made baklava which was 10/10, better than the oakleigh cake shops 👍🏼 the portions are always reasonable and the price is standard for what our current climate is in.
my only negative comment would be this place is not open on a Sunday (or Monday) which is the laziest day no one in our family wants to cook and we’d prefer takeout but we understand everyone needs to rest 😂 Didn’t get a chance to take a picture of our food as we inhaled it but HIGHLY recommend this place to any locals or anyone...
