Another reviewer has expressed it perfectly. “Traditional and Good Cantonese food. A simple small restaurant with a skillful chef of Cantonese dishes. Worthy for recurring visits.” We preordered some dishes for CNY including whole steamed fish and prawn noodles (rather than lobster noodles). I respect the attitude & skill shown in the dishes - no need to go into details but every dish well-proved the statement above. Jenny took care of front of house with a no nonsense, capable and sweet approach (in a way a perfect blend of Aussie laid back and so-familiar Cantonese efficiency) making our guests comfortable and happy from start to finish. Thank you Peony Flower Inn team. We will be back whenever we plan a good meal. Important update - card payment also available with 3.5% surcharge. The organised will bring cash (sadly I managed to forget my cash at home even though I had meant to bring)

This is a small, strip mall style, cash only, diner with possibly the best fresh home cooked style mostly Cantonese food around. I have not yet had a single dish that didn't make my tastebuds sit up and beg for more. My absolute favourites so far are salted egg yolk deep fried chicken wings, Korean beef, salt and pepper deep fried tofu or fish fillets, fresh seasonal veg, and roast duck noodles (swoon), and I could just go on and on. Everything on the menu is good and some (everybody will have their favourites) are just great. The space only seats about twenty and it does a continuous takeaway business, so decide which way you want to order and get there early (turnover is consistent) if you just want to get a table and sit and savour, and chat about what you are eating. You will continuously be saying "try this! try this!".

Been a few times usually really good food at a reasonable price. Today all the food except the actual squid meat in the Salt and pepper squid was good. The meat tasted a bit funny, hard to pin point the taste but I had to leave half of it. The rest of the food and the batter etc tasted good. Still I'll be back again but will try something different.

Surprisingly good little gem of a restaurant, really happy to have discovered somewhere to quench my canto food cravings.

The pros: We ordered a bunch of rice noodles (hor fun) dishes which were cooked perfectly. Gelatinous hor fun, nice wok hei char, very tasty. Had the chicken ribs which were crispy and flavoursome. Dishes come out fairly quickly and are price very reasonably!

The cons: None. Although the restaurant is cash only as one might expect haha.

This restaurant is a local cheap and cheerful option for some really solid staple canto food. It's no frills, no service, no decor, just great food by chefs who are I imagine are ex-big/fancy restaurants but now want to live a quieter life but still retain all...
