Dhamaka Special Chinese Platter has Fried Rice, Noodles, Chilli Paneer, Chilli Gobi (Cauliflower). The Fried Rice, Noodles were good. The Chilli Gobi was excellent. The Paneer was a little chewy for our liking and we did ask the owner about it and they did say that that is how its supposed to be as its fried with batter on top.
Lahsun Pyaz Kichidi was one of our favs of the meal. The Kichidi was dripping with goodness and it was making us miss home. It had the right amount of spice and the flavours were excellent.
Achari Paneer Frankie was so loaded with paneer and the Achari (Pickle) flavour added a great touch to it. We gobbled it down in no time.
Triple Dhamaka Grill Sandwich was one another fav of our meal. The Sandwich was loaded with potato filling along with some veggies. It was topped up with loads of cheese as well. The dipping sauces served with it was Ketchup and Green (Minth) chutney. It was a great combo. This was super filling.
Chole Kulcha was fresh and hot. The Chole was so flavoursome and it was a great combination with the freshly made Kulche.
Buttermilk was nice and fresh. S enjoyed his drink.
Tea was a proper Indian style tea with lot of milk and it was good. C enjoyed it a lot.

Dhamaka in English translates to “blast” and this food truck is undoubtedly a “blast” and a statement. Everything here is made and cooked fresh!
Viewed through one lens, the vegetarian offerings here stand out as some of the best I’ve experienced, providing a delightful array of flavors and textures. Yet, from another perspective, Dhamaka showcases the essence of Indian street food, enhanced by the unique flair of Indo-Chinese creations.
Melbourne’s culinary landscape never fails to surprise, unveiling hidden gems that boast excellence while flying under the radar. Our journey to Clayton for this culinary escapade proved to be a rewarding decision. What a find!
We (David and Daniel) savored each dish, opting for a medium spice level to strike the perfect balance of flavors. From the Achari Paneer Frankie, with its succulent paneer and tangy accents to the standout Dhamaka Special Chinese Platter with Manchurian, Noodles, Fried Rice, Paneer and gravy (served on a large cabbage leaf), every dish offered a delightful medley of flavors and textures.
The refreshing Mango Lassi was a highlight, as was the two layer Triple Dhamaka Grill Sandwich, a satisfying amalgamation of grilled goodness. Another standout was the comforting simplicity of the Chole Kulche, a chickpea dish that resonated with warmth and flavor.

The menu is brimming with mouthwatering options. Start with their street-style Hakka noodles which was decent—cooked with a medley of fresh vegetables and a hint of spice that’s just right. The crispy, tangy Manchurian is another highlight, blending savory and sweet flavors in every bite. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more indulgent, their flavorful Maggi noodles are a nostalgic delight, taking you back to the vibrant streets of India. Wasn’t a big fan of the fried rice though.
But the charm of this food truck doesn’t stop at Indo-Chinese cuisine. Their authentic Indian offerings are just as impressive. The Chole Kulche, a beloved North Indian favorite, features perfectly spiced chickpeas served with soft, fluffy bread—a combination that’s both hearty and satisfying. The Khichdi, a comforting mix of rice and lentils, is the true MVP of the menu. It’s simple, yet packed with flavor, making it the ultimate comfort food.
The atmosphere is welcoming, kitchen is clean and the service is friendly, making it an ideal spot for a casual meal with friends or family. If you're in Clayton. Since it’s an outdoor seating, would recommend a takeaway or delivery when it rains. But make sure to have their piping hot Chai(tea) at the truck itself. You also get free...
