We went in on a week day for dinner and even then it was crowded. There were throngs of people waiting after us to order and the kitchen was busy. They are food truck and they cook their food fresh and the owners and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We got - ✅ Dhamaka Special Chinese Platter $24.99 - ⭐ Lahsun Pyaz Kichidi $14.99 - ✅ Achari Paneer Frankie $14.99 - ⭐ Triple Dhamaka Grill Sandwich $15.99 - ✅ Chole Kulche $15.99 - ✅ Buttermilk $5 - ✅ Tea $4 Dhamaka Special Chinese Platter has Fried Rice, Noodles, Chilli Paneer, Chilli Gobi (Cauliflower). The Fried Rice, Noodles were good. The Chilli Gobi was excellent. The Paneer was a little chewy for our liking and we did ask the owner about it and they did say that that is how its supposed to be as its fried with batter on top. Lahsun Pyaz Kichidi was one of our favs of the meal. The Kichidi was dripping with goodness and it was making us miss home. It had the right amount of spice and the flavours were excellent. Achari Paneer Frankie was so loaded with paneer and the Achari (Pickle) flavour added a great touch to it. We gobbled it down in no time. Triple Dhamaka Grill Sandwich was one another fav of our meal. The Sandwich was loaded with potato filling along with some veggies. It was topped up with loads of cheese as well. The dipping sauces served with it was Ketchup and Green (Minth) chutney. It was a great combo. This was super filling. Chole Kulcha was fresh and hot. The Chole was so flavoursome and it was a great combination with the freshly made Kulche. Buttermilk was nice and fresh. S enjoyed his drink. Tea was a proper Indian style tea with lot of milk and it was good. C enjoyed it a lot. We really enjoyed the meal and were literally transported to the streets of India. Their spice levels can be a lot so order accordingly.

Dhamaka Food Truck, located along Princes Highway in Clayton, offers a lip-smacking and intriguing fusion of Indian street-style and Chinese cuisine, courtesy of the talented Yash. Dhamaka in English translates to “blast” and this food truck is undoubtedly a “blast” and a statement. Everything here is made and cooked fresh! Viewed through one lens, the vegetarian offerings here stand out as some of the best I’ve experienced, providing a delightful array of flavors and textures. Yet, from another perspective, Dhamaka showcases the essence of Indian street food, enhanced by the unique flair of Indo-Chinese creations. Melbourne’s culinary landscape never fails to surprise, unveiling hidden gems that boast excellence while flying under the radar. Our journey to Clayton for this culinary escapade proved to be a rewarding decision. What a find! We (David and Daniel) savored each dish, opting for a medium spice level to strike the perfect balance of flavors. From the Achari Paneer Frankie, with its succulent paneer and tangy accents to the standout Dhamaka Special Chinese Platter with Manchurian, Noodles, Fried Rice, Paneer and gravy (served on a large cabbage leaf), every dish offered a delightful medley of flavors and textures. The refreshing Mango Lassi was a highlight, as was the two layer Triple Dhamaka Grill Sandwich, a satisfying amalgamation of grilled goodness. Another standout was the comforting simplicity of the Chole Kulche, a chickpea dish that resonated with warmth and flavor. Our experience at Dhamaka was a joyous and memorable one, showcasing the diverse culinary landscape Melbourne has to offer.

My craving for Indian food has been satisfied with Dhamaka’s Indian-Chinese fusion. A quaint little food truck located next to Zone Bowling in Clayton right opposite M-City, they serve 100% vegetarian dishes. We ordered: Dhamaka Special Chinese Platter ($24.99) - this was a a nice fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisine. Although it is 100% vegetarian we thought there was meat because of the fake meatball which was actually made out of cabbage and was really good. Chole Kulche ($15.99) - this is my favourite dish that we tried. I loved the flatbread and the combination of the spicy chickpea curry with it. It was a nice kick, but we would have liked it spicier. Triple Dhamaka Grill Sandwich ($15.99) - this sandwich was so juicy and still had the best crunch to it. There were so much cheese on top and it was pretty good. Achari Paneer Frankie ($14.99) - this was very different for us but as soon as my boyfriend bit into it, he loved it and ate the entire thing within five minutes. Mango Lassi ($5) - the mango lassi was really nice and had really prominent mango flavour. I like that I couldn’t taste the yoghurt. Masala Tea - this was really good to wash everything down. It had a nice spice to it. Overall, if I was to come back, I would definitely be getting the chickpea curry with the flatbread because it was so amazing. Keen to try out some of the other items as well! Rating: 9/10

If you’re looking for a vibrant fusion of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds, this is a must-visit. This charming food truck offers an impressive array of Indo-Chinese street food and authentic Indian dishes, making it a true gem for food enthusiasts.

The menu is brimming with mouthwatering options. Start with their street-style Hakka noodles which was decent—cooked with a medley of fresh vegetables and a hint of spice that’s just right. The crispy, tangy Manchurian is another highlight, blending savory and sweet flavors in every bite. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more indulgent, their flavorful Maggi noodles are a nostalgic delight, taking you back to the vibrant streets of India. Wasn’t a big fan of the fried rice though.

But the charm of this food truck doesn’t stop at Indo-Chinese cuisine. Their authentic Indian offerings are just as impressive. The Chole Kulche, a beloved North Indian favorite, features perfectly spiced chickpeas served with soft, fluffy bread—a combination that’s both hearty and satisfying. The Khichdi, a comforting mix of rice and lentils, is the true MVP of the menu. It’s simple, yet packed with flavor, making it the ultimate comfort food.

The atmosphere is welcoming, kitchen is clean and the service is friendly, making it an ideal spot for a casual meal with friends or family. If you're in Clayton. Since it’s an outdoor seating, would recommend a takeaway or delivery when it rains. But make sure to have their piping hot Chai(tea) at the truck itself. You also get free...
