AVOID - THERE'S BETTER ELSEWHERE IN ALL ASPECTS!!
Sadly our take away nights and Westfield eats has come to an end after yesterdays appalling service and subpar food. We normally spend $150 - $200 on take away once a month from here, and pay cash. Yesterday, we dined in for the first time, biggest mistake!
The seating arrangements are designed for the layout, we get that. We required a larger table, as we were dining with a person who has a walking aid. On that note, we swapped a barstool, for a chair with back support from an empty table. Immediately we were approached and were aggressively abused by the floor manager! After advising why, and that we would place the chair back at the end of our meal, there was no reasoning for him. To his argument, do not move furniture because of the aesthetic. Ummm what about the paying crippled customer?
What made it worse, he became disgruntled, and spoke in mandarin to the other manager about us! When we asked if there is a problem, we justified our reason, and further advised of our disabilities, discriminating! We said, we can go elsewhere, and cancel our order. We were told no no, its okay but, the other manager, understood our situation and his solution was for us, and I QUOTE ' you the man can sit on this small chair, and give the ladies chair with back support to keep chair same at all table'.
Food: we order the same things every time. char kway teow - no lap cheong (chinese sausage) today! raw onion galore with minimal chicken. dumplings - passed because they come frozen from a wholesaler wonton noodle soup - pass due to the above.
Considering the city prices you charge and you don't even make your noodles or dumplings, dim sum or anything stuffed on site like other take aways near by, and your mangers service with the occasional sub par food, this will not be suffice.
I don't expect a reply or anything in return. Discrimination...
Read moreReservation was easy by phone. When we got there we asked for a different table because the reserved one was at the entrance. After this request, the experience was all down hill. Middle aged Chinese guy with glasses started becoming rude and kept looking at us the whole time. The way he spoke was rude as well. I mean we could have left but we already paid for the food so might as well eat it there. They’ll give you the menu and go to the cashier to order and pay. Tall, thin, young, asian lady at the cashier was kinda rude too (what’s up with this place). We came here coz of google maps search for asian food and it had heaps of reviews with a high rating but come on you gotta have good service at least. So, I guess I found out how they got heaps of reviews. There are signs in the restaurant for a free coke if you review them in google ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, go figure. We had roast duck(too salty), pan fried dumplings (a bit dry, flavor okay), Shanghai pork dumplings (okay), sliced beef noodle soup (okay), stir fry beans with minced pork (good), crispy roast pork noodle soup (pork was good, noodle and soup okay), deep fried prawn (very good). Ambience, really can’t say much other than the fact that glasses guy kept staring at us so we can’t really enjoy our food. The good thing though was there was 1 small lady staff that at least tried to smile and refill our water and they gave us free take away containers. We felt unwelcome at this restaurant just because of the overall vibe of the staff except for one. Anyway, I guess they’re the only Asian restaurant in this parts of Victoria so no choice. But, if you could find one with a better service maybe don’t go here unless you really like the deep fried prawn and you can’t get it anywhere else. Cheers. Hope this helps others who checks ratings and reviews...
Read moreI go to this place at least once a month and spend between $200-$350 on take away for my family dinner. Always been great. Last nite went there and the food was very very under whelming. Fried Rice used to be my favourite... now its so bland and less filling. The portions used to be full in the containers and now they're just a tad more than half full. The price increase is so dramatic and I don't mind it as long as I get the same quality and quantity. My Mapo Tofu was sinking in liquid and extremely oily as if it was an oily tofu soup!! Mongolian beef and Mongolian chicken were only half filled in the container and so much onions. Like literally swimming in onions!! Tasteless as well Brought it back and they tried to cook me another mapo Tofu and still very very oily and only a bit more than half full in the container. I told them what's going on. Do yoh hve a new chef? Manager said all staff are the same. The manager went back 3 x to try to remedy my mapo Tofu but the results were the same. His overall demeanour wasn't great. So I just took it home and can't wait any longer as I was starving !!! When you spend that much money you expect quality and same quantity especially the outrageous price hike. It's very very disappointing. My sons and.their espective girlfriend's family goes there at least once a wk to dine in and sometimes take out. Will not go back there again. Good luck is all I can say. Wendy ... the owner used to be there and food was great. Now he is not present his whole restaurant is going down hill. The ladies who works there...
