I arrived in the store at around 10.40pm. I wanted to order takeaway on the app and it only allowed me to order it for pickup at 11.30pm. I asked the staff member if I were to order it for an 11.30pm, would they just be able to make the food straight away so I can leave earlier as I needed to leave. The staff member said yes, they will notify the kitchen once I place the order and it should be around 15 minutes. I placed the order at 10.45pm and let them know what name the order was under so they could notify the kitchen. I waited until 11.15pm and followed up with the same staff member. They could not find my order, so they had to ask me twice what it consisted of. They notified their supervisor. Their supervisor told me it would only be a few more minutes. Fast forward to 11.30pm and I finally got my order. I advised the manager what happened and he said they do not receive the order until closer to the pick up time selected on the app. I told the manager that this was what I had initially requested a work-around for to the staff member prior to ordering. The manager advised it was a miscommunication and just offered an apology. I was not happy. To make things worse, I went home and discovered one of the ice cream containers had already been opened. This is not good enough. I wasted a lot of my time.

First off - waitstaff were great. None of the following is their fault. I spent $60 here (two breakfasts, no drinks), i kind of expected food to actually be cooked. Also the ice cream size scoop of unsalted butter on my pancakes was so pale I thought it was going to steal my land. Appears in hindsight that it was butter/margarine blend. Mistook it for ice cream before taking a bite - discovered quickly this was not the case. Whatever it was, was tasteless and coated my mouth, robbing me of any further enjoyment. Pancakes were not $30 pancakes. Not bad, but also not amazing. If I were not so extremely averse to sending food back, this one would have been a formal complaint. I left feeling robbed. This a rare experience for me. Hash browns were a chewy, lukewarm oily mess of shredded potato, not at all what was expected when seeing the words "hash brown". Eggs were one step away frpm raw, as was bacon. Cup day rush in the kitchen is my only explanation. Note to self - don't travel 3 hours for a meal here, and don't trust my mate's recommendation again.

EDIT: when we managed to speak to a supervisor, she was incredibly rude and belligerent, but reluctantly fixed the issue. for the record, your staff took the plate before we even had an OPPORTUNITY to mention it. we didn't appreciate the lecture, and we won't be dining with your unhygienic, rude, incompetent staff again. for $15.50, I 100% expected the serving size to be larger. I don't think it's wrong, when I go out to buy a meal, to expect that the meal would contain enough food to feed a person. on top of this, when we came in, I came in with an injury on crutches, and they still sat and served two or three groups before my partner and I even received menus. to then come up to a table with no menus, and ask for our order? on top of that, the themed shakes are now served in what appear to be 200ml cups, for twelve dollars! the service here has declined steeply, and the quality of the food. 24/7 does not suit you, pancake parlour. this is abysmal.

What a joke, went there with a mate for a double date as his GF who was like “omg the atmosphere is so good”. There is more of an atmosphere talking to a crack head at a train station. There was 15 people in total on a Wednesday evening for reference….

Don’t know what was worse, the two servers with love bits all over them constantly flirting with each other the whole time, or the fact that my $35.50 Parma was the legit same size as the kids Parma for only $16, but had 7 pieces of potato where the kids one had 11 pieces.

When I asked the waiter about the meal when he brought it out he said and I quote “yeah that’s just how the meal comes”, when I compared the two meals (main and kids) and said “I’m paying double, big getting legit the same as a kids meal, how’s is this accurate?”, the waiter couldn’t give two shits and walked away.

When I left and paid on the way out, I again asked the lady at the counter, she said “yeah we don’t have any say in setting the prices”, my issue isn’t the price, but I’d expect a main to be different from the kids meal, especially when paying over double the price. My bill total was $45.63 I also got a pint of Pepsi, $11 for a Pepsi…….. even at a bar you’d be paying tops $6. In reality for a $35.50 Parma id expect a much better meal, especially when the bar across the way had a $18 Parma and pot night.

Transaction was at 8:33pm Wednesday the 29th for reference is management wants to look it up. After working in hospitality for 10 years, if a customer brings something up you take it on board, not just “stuff it and brush it off”. Given that 72% of customers don’t return if their first experience wasn’t good. I’m part of that 72% for this...

We had a pre-booked party of 20 people at Pancake Parlour Fountain Gate for a restaurant success celebration, with all attendees being from hospitality backgrounds. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from the very beginning.

Upon arrival, when we informed the staff member of our booking, his response was to roll his eyes—an unprofessional and discouraging start to the evening. Service throughout the night was consistently poor. Drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive, with no staff member communicating delays or explaining that there was only one person on the bar.

Even when the first round of drinks was taken for only half the table, as the rest of our guests were still arriving, staff continued to drop drinks off without ever asking the newly arrived guests if they would like to order. There were no check-backs on our table, no clearing of plates, and no follow-up for additional drink orders.

At one point, when one of our guests went to the front to get staff attention to place more drink and food orders, a staff member entered the party room and dismissively said, “So what’s the issue here guys?”—a response that felt both unprofessional and discourteous.

To make matters worse, the manager himself brought a wrong drink to the table and simply walked away without an apology. For a group that spent over $600, the lack of basic service standards was unacceptable.

As hospitality professionals, we understand the pressures of service, especially with large groups. However, the absence of communication, attentiveness, and courtesy made this a very poor experience, particularly for a...
