i attended the sporting globe in narre warren on monday night. i called the restaurant at about 5:30pm asking if they had any tables available, the woman on the phone explained to me that they were FULLY booked out for the night. my friends and i went to fountain gate and saw that the spotting globe was nearly empty with only 2 or 3 tables being used. I asked the young waitress for a table for 10 and she was able to organise that with no hassle. in the same night, a male waiter came to our table with a drink that i had ordered, i wasn’t able to understand fully what he was saying as he was singing - it turned out he was saying “a pint of coke” which is what i ordered. when he got my attention, he proceeded to throw a napkin at me and tell me to pay attention. this left me feeling embarrassed and very disappointed with the service. on top of this, at the end of our meal, the waitress by the name of emma came to our table and asked us to do a 5 star review using her name so she would win a prize from her manager, she then proceeded to give us free drinks for leaving a good review with her name. individuals should not be coerced into leaving a good review when clearly the service...
Read moreWe had lovely food at Sporting Globe tonight but our experience was ruined by poor service from one of the ginger-haired waitresses. When we requested for our table to be wiped and cleared prior to our ordering of dessert, the waitress briskly left a wet cloth on our table and walked away. My guests and I were quite shocked with the action because it was the first time we’d seen a restaurant expecting the customer to wipe down our own table. Upon summoning the waitress back to the table, we questioned if it was standard practice for this to be done. The response of the waitress was very defensive, unapologetic and very rude. She responded by saying she had told us that she was going to give us the cloth for our own usage but we had ignored her. She continued to argue that it didn’t make sense for her to clear the table when our belongings were on it and that she couldn’t reach the far end of the table. It was not so much the excuses given, but the complete lack of customer service in this instance. Rather than diffusing the situation, she chose to take on an offensive tone which was quite frankly in bad taste. Despite the good food this experience has...
Read moreIf you're thinking about booking a Trivia night here, DON'T! Try TGIF instead. My friends and I booked a trivia night session for The Office which we were all so excited for. There was so much confusion about what date it was supposed to be held. After 3 phone calls to the store, we were told it was going to be held this Thursday. Our excitement quickly turned to anger and disappointment when we received a text an hour before saying the trivia night was happening tonight (Tuesday). I immediately called the store and asked for an explanation. I spoke to Brandon and he was amazing. Very sympathetic and understanding to the situation. He said he only found out on short notice that the trivia night was tonight. I feel so sorry for the poor staff who now have to deal with unpleasant phone calls and angry customers because their bosses and higher ups did not clearly communicate and confirm the correct trivia date. How embarrassing to put your own staff through that experience, making them look incompetent! Really disappointed and will continue to support trivia at...
