4.5 ⭐️ Really like EIS, their raw fish are very fresh- a good neighbourhood gem that you should check out if you are nearby. The sushi and sashimi platter is huge and the selection was delicious, the new style scallop sashimi was good, so was the steak. They didn’t have plum wine on their menu, but they are happy to find me some 😋 There is a few niggly bits, if I was to be very picky. The service was a little bit slow, but I do pity the poor man- the place was filling up and the second wait staff didn’t come in until about 7pm. The edamame beans had one or two pieces that was laden with salt, it’s like they didn’t toss it properly. They also overcooked the chawanmushi- although the flavours are beautiful, the texture was a let down.

We love and look forward to authentic Japanese food after relocation from Sydney to Melbourne and this is the second one we tried. With a fine dining interior at first we worried it'd be expensive but price was fair or relatively cheap with such food quality. We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Combination Platter for 2 and it was fresh and able to satisfy us! The little Sukiyaki which was on special was yummy too. Both the staffs here were friendly and provided great service. With such vibe, food quality & service we definitely will return while we keep exploring our favourite jp restaurants~!

This japanese restaurant serves both modern/contemporary dishes along with the more traditional sushi and sashimi. What we love were the fried chicken and the dumplings. Chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The accompanying pickle was refreshing with a bit of heat to it. The crab dumpling was seasoned perfectly and the noodle-like skin was something unique we never see before. Food - 8 Service - 10 Vibe - 8 Price - $$$$

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Melbourne. Sushi and sashimi that's made fresh to order and an extensive, creative mix of traditional and modern Japanese gems - from crab dumplings to a sublime duck and a wagyu beef dish that melts in your mouth. Authentic and friendly Japanese staff managed by Hiro who always has a smile on his face and goes the extra mile for his guests (we were looking for a specific bottle one night, which wasn't on their wine menu; to our surprise it showed up on the list next time...
