A Culinary Delight That Left Me Savoring Every Bite I recently had the pleasure of dining at Novotel glen Waverley , and I must say it was an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for an exceptional meal. To start, I ordered the Methi malai kebab, and it was a true flavor explosion. The combination of fresh ingredients and expert seasoning created a tantalizing mix of textures and tastes that left my taste buds dancing. It was a delightful introduction to what was to come. For the main course, I opted for the Chicken biryani . The presentation alone was a work of art, with vibrant colors. But it was the first bite that truly transported me to a world of culinary bliss. The dish showcased a perfect harmony of flavors, each ingredient complementing the other in a symphony of taste. It was evident that the chef's expertise and attention to detail were at play here. The service throughout the meal was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. To conclude the evening, I indulged in the Zafrani Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée, and it was the perfect ending to an extraordinary dining experience. It was the ideal balance of sweetness and richness, leaving me completely satisfied and longing for more. Overall, my dining experience at Mezze by Novotel Glen Waverley was nothing short of exceptional. From the impeccable service to the thoughtfully crafted dishes, every aspect exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure. It's a testament to the chef's talent and dedication, and I am already eagerly planning...
Read moreVisited Meze Restaurant at the Novotel Glen Waverley with a group of friends last weekend and was blown away by the excellent Indian food on offer.
This is hands down the most authentic Indian food I've had in my 20+ years of living in Melbourne.
The menu is small but cleverly curated so you're sure to find one of your go-to favourites of something a bit different which your average Indian restaurant won't even dare to attempt.
Gulab Jamun Crème Brulé anyone??? I for one, couldn't resist, and what was served was absolutely delightful. Do yourself a favour and try it.
The Chicken Makhni (butter chicken) reminded me of my favourite version of this classic dish that I grew up eating at a local restaurant in Mumbai.
It's not the ridiculously sweet, tomato purée version you get in nearly every Indian restaurant across Melbourne, it's the real deal. I'm going back just for this.
We tried both the lamb and chicken biryani as well and just as it said on the menu, they were not spicy but flavourful and aromatic.
The biryani was served in an earthen pot with a crisp dough lid sealing in all the goodness (a nod to the traditional way you're meant to finish cooking a biryani).
Another dish, not often featured on menus across Melbourne's numerous Indian restaurants, was the Prawn Moilee. This too was an excellent representation of the original flavours of this South Indian classic. A Vegetarian version is also available.
The delicious food, accentuated by small details, delivered a very satisfying dining experience.
Hidden inside the Novotel, on the 'other' side of Glen Waverley's busy and bustling Kingsway, Meze is a surprisingly scrumptious...
Read moreOutstanding service! We were looked after by 3 friendly and attentive team members including Chef Uday who visited our table multiple times during the service. We actually didn't realise until the end of the night that he was the chef which was a pleasant surprise. The team here are so polite and customer-centric, a far cry from other venues where some 'service' staff are just not understanding the value of creating a customer experience.
I also immediately enjoyed the ambience upon walking in. It was a relaxed but chic vibe with a great chill-hop r&b playlist going while we were there. We were seated at a table by the window just behind the bar. It gave me fond memories of being on holidays or fun work trips, sitting in the hotel bar/restaurant unwinding over a chilled out meal. But this time with more interesting food!
Middle-Eastern, Indian and Asian cuisine are what we eat most so it was very appealing to me having Middle-Eastern & Indian options on the same menu. I enjoyed scooping up hummus with a garlic naan. We tried Middle-Eastern this time and the dishes came after a short wait time and presented nicely on our table as we were having it share-style, the best way to try more food! The beef was perfectly cooked, so tender and enjoyable with both the garlic sauce and hummus as a side.
We will be returning for the Indian menu - the dum biriyani is a rare find and so well priced here (starting $22) for a specialty dish.
Thank-you for a wonderful evening team Meze!
Tip: outdoor dining on the terrace would also be lovely on a...
