I'm one of THOSE people that read the menu ahead of time, so I deliberately went to Elwood Bathers starving, so I could try three courses (It's the weekend, ok?). Entering the restaurant, there was the must incredible smell and while possibly heightened because of my hunger, I'm sure it would have smelled as delicious even if I weren't hungry at all.

We sat down and immediately realised that the other reviews are right when they mention how loud it is in here. Big floor to ceiling windows and concrete floors don't do much to absorb the sound, so you might need to preserve your voice until you arrive, so you can yell over to the people you're dinning with. The table was very narrow and hard to fit in drinks and water and phones and cutlery and plates etc, but we managed eventually.

The food came out really quickly and was presented beautifully. The salmon entree was superb and light, fresh and delicious. Really good. When the main came out, I was a little disappointed. The Fish 'n Chips were great tasting, but there was SO much salt coating it all, that I had to leave a big chunk of it (and remember, I'm still hungry at this point). The batter tasted good, but it was dense and doughy. The fish inside was beautifully cooked and white. Dessert didn't disappoint. Not only was it also very pretty on the plate, but perfect on the palate. I asked for an ice cream flavour substitution and they obliged correctly. It was a delicious chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream and freeze dried strawberries. So yum.

The service here was pretty much spot on as well. Our waitress was friendly and nice, and when my companion didn't like their dessert, she offered another at no charge, or to have it removed from the bill. Everyone was accomodating and happy.

The negatives were ... Expensive parking. There's plenty of parking, but for two hours, it cost $12. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but that's why you come here for an occasion. The acoustics aren't great. When I say it's noisy, I mean it sincerely. It's loud. But the view of the water is gorgeous and the decor is nice, and overall I must say I will DEFINITELY come back again to try other menu items (and maybe try it for...

That was the worst birthday dinning experience ever!! We booked the table a week ago and requested a few times to have a window seating for my son's birthday dinner. We were the first guests in the restaurant and we were rejected to have a window seating!!

The manager said there were people book for the window tables earlier than us that's why we can not have a window seating. Well, that's not what was being told when we made the booking. If the restaurant knows that there were people already took up all the window tables and we definitely could not have a window seating, they could just told us straightaway and we will definitely not go there. They just told us that there is no guarantee but will see how it goes at that night. We put up a hope and be the first one to be there and it turned out that we were excluded since we made the booking!

We saw some window seating was vacant for an hour/one and a hour or so. I do not know how they manage the booking. If you know people book for 7/7:30 etc, then you can tell you customer to come at 5 or 5:30 if they want to have the window seating. Otherwise, should it be first came first in? Or if people have booked for the certain time for window seating and you already know what session has been booked why you cant just make it clearly to every customer and be fair to everyone??!! So So So disappointed!!!

My son has been looking forward to having a sea view dinner for so long and I felt very bad to disappoint him. The food was so-so and the service was not nice either. We felt like we were not welcomed at all!

I never give a bad review to any business. I understand it is hard for every business but I could not avoid this time!! Worst birthday dinner ever!!! It...

We dined in on 16th December 2024 around 5pm. We had a very rude manager on duty raising his voice to us. Me and my bf went in to have some beverages and snacks since it was a very hot day on the beach, and we needed to rest a bit. When we went in, we asked one of the waiters who was at the entrance where can we sit, and he said to us we can seat our selves in one of the tables, so we where looking over to find a table to sit, and then this Walter White looking manger shouted to us very aggressively ā€HOW CAN I HELP?!ā€ And I wasn’t aware of the situation since one of the waiter told us to seat our selfs. I said ā€œoh sorry we got told to sit somewhere over thereā€ and he said ā€œNo! you have to come to me!!ā€ in a very rude tone of voice and talked to me like I was a child, that almost made me tear up. How do we meant to know who to talk to when nobody told us so, he didn’t great us when we walked in or anything? also it was definitely not the way to talk to anyone… and the place was pretty much empty and it didn’t seemed like they had some reservations? I didn’t do anything to get yelled at the way he did. We ordered iced coffees and prawn sliders, the food was great and the rest of the staff members were so lovely and accommodating! It was a shame to have a grumpy cold manager upsetting me.

Ps. We read the other reviews and it all made sense one of the recent review had a complaint about ā€œracist owner in glassesā€ since me and my bf are both Asians and multiple reviews made mentioned a rude manger to Asian people. Unless this guy is gone we don’t recommend you dining in at this place if you have...

Great food. Fantastic view. The wait staff and kitchen were very accommodating to dietary requirements and allergies. Expensive for portion size.

HONEST review :) came for dinner with my partner tonight, pretty restaurant for a date. Don’t get me wrong, overall the vibes are lovely, the setting of being on the beach and being able to see the water and sand is great, dim lighting, etc. I enjoyed it. The man who looked after us was smiling the whole time and he was attentive. Only one minor problem, this is on the expensive side of the scale (for what you get). The Frutti Di Mare was $56 (the option of ā€œlargeā€) vs. the smaller option (both mains however) which is $46. I understand seafood and well, everything in general these days is more expensive than it used to be, but honestly, most restaurants will serve you the same portion size, with the same amount of seafood inside your linguini but for less of a price. Advice if you’re choosing between the small or large options: if you want your belly satisfied go with the large 1000% I’m a petite 5’1 girl and I still had room for dessert after! That’s the only downside though, oh and maybe also when I walked out I said thank you to one of the girls, the waitress at the exit and she didn’t even reply back, and no one else was around, she definitely saw us walking out—but that’s alright anyway our waiter was awesome. Moving on to better things, the duck pappardelle was good! The dessert was DELICIOUS and was the highlight. I can’t remember the exact name but it was chocolate salted caramel dessert (in the photo) No doubt it was insanely yummy!! I inhaled it like a vacuum. The atmosphere is stunning. Overall, I’ll be back in the future.
