Shahi India Malvern — Local services in Melbourne

Shahi India Malvern is my local Indian groceries store. I have been visiting this place for the past 2 years almost every week or more. The owners as well as the staff are very friendly. The place is small and during the peak hours they are quite busy and crowded. What I love about this place is their small mini cafeteria at the back of the store. Here, they server yummy Indian food and chaat. The food is freshly made. I have seen customers place bulk orders for parties and other gatherings too. In the past 2 years there have seen lot of upgrades and improvements. They stock up produces once every week. It is a lovely store, and you will find almost everything that you need here. But what I would highly recommend is if you happen to shop at this store do check the expiry of the products when you buy them as some time, they are remarkably close to the use by date. Also, their refund policy is no good. So be 100% sure before you buy anything. All in all a good place to buy...

If there would have been option for giving zero I would have given zero star I was overcharged and the excuse the owner gave was it was the first day of the girl there. If it was the first day they should provide training for the staff team or someone experience should have been there Went second time the store was close during the afternoon time and when I called and asked the owner said no staff is coming and she herself will be coming and I asked her how much time will it take for her to reach and whether she has the stuffs which I want to buy, because waiting for 10 mins and then not getting the stuffs isn’t worth. The owner literally replied back “ I don’t know whether we have fresh sweets or not and I am not asking you to wait for 30 mins it’s just 10 mins “

The worst customer service ever seen. Happened to visit the grocery store yesterday, there was an Indian girl standing in the kitchen doing nothing but talking and completely ignored me several times. She was busy talking to a man offering her job. It was pathetic to see staff cooking and eating at the same time in kitchen without any hygiene. The local council needs to have a look into this. Over the top, I was astonished to see staff telling a customer that most of the stuff is expired here and she was going to leave the job as owners were treating her like a slave.
