Fatboys Phillys — Restaurant in Melbourne

Absolutely top-tier experience at Fatboy Philly’s in Bundoora. Came in late for a feed (open till 11pm which is perfect for night owls), and from the moment we walked in, the feel was spot on. The two lads working were absolute legends — super friendly, had a great chat with my mate and me, and just brought that kind of energy that makes a place feel welcoming.

Now onto the food — the cheesesteaks were next level. Ridiculously good. The beef was tender, packed with flavour, the cheese was melty and generous, and everything tasted super fresh. It’s one of those feeds that hits the spot and then some. We even forgot to ask for cheese sauce when we ordered, and the boys kindly threw some in for free without us even having to ask again. Little things like that really show the quality of service and care they put in.

If you’re in the area or even a little out of the way — make the trip. Late night, quality feed, great banter, and food that delivers. Can’t recommend it enough. Will...

Wonderfull little shop, great staff and atmosphere was good. Staff made us feel welcome and remembered us when we came back a second time!

Food was great and filling. We got the 2 burger/philly combo. The chilly Philly isn’t as spicy as you’d think (which is good!), great portion of fries and a good variety of drinks to choose from. Many sauce options too, but you can’t go past ranch 🫶

My only two criticisms would be the chicken tenders were a bit small and the cooking process is quite loud (the sound of smashing meat on the grill), an unavoidable thing worth it for the food but noted nevertheless.

Hard to believe these reviews are real. Sat down at a repulsively sticky table, got up to order a sandwich - just the regular Philly Cheesesteak, sat back down, within seconds it was ready, too much to ask for the staff to bring it over. Shiny milk bun brioche like roll, then what I would best describe as beef debris, a hint of cheese, onions and a mountain of black pepper. It was dry, bland - bar the pepper, and just devoid of anything meritorious or interesting really. No juicy steak flavour, just crumbs of dry beef and a suggestion of cheese. It's hard to believe this is authentic, let alone worthy of the almost 5 star rating this place has. I didn't finish...
