Freedom Healesville: The Hive — Restaurant in Melbourne

The lady that works there sort of older blonde was wearing a green and white striped top was extremely rude and condescending.

Starting with the weirdest....She refered to my beautiful baby boy as "they ! "... plus much more !

It also seems there is no proper kitchen at the cafe everything is prepared at the counter where payment is taken.

So what happened we received our food after 25 minutes. The easy meals of a ham & cheese toasted sandwich (with no cheese) and a smoothie BOWL meant to have banana & peanut butter (tasted like water and couldnt visually see any of these two ingredients/flavours on top or within, which are normally quite strong and thick - not water).

After 1 taste and having our food at the table less then 1 minute, I called this particular lady over to show her politely just pointing it out only.... straight away the lady said as a response to my little 1 year old boy "they...must of ate it all" not only is it very strange to call a baby or person "they" when in the direct presence of said person, but perhaps "i am terribly sorry we can put some on the sandwich for you if you like Or maybe your child or baby has eaten the cheese?" Some easy suggestions... but my baby boy couldn't of eaten it, the bread was White, no cheese, just ham and the food had just arrived...he's a baby. Then when I said there was also no banana or peanut butter in the smoothie BOWL and it was very watery and you could not see any or taste any.

She continued to look at me like I'm an idiot and said it's all in there !!!

Not offering to put some in there or apologising. (even after showing the inside of the sandwich and bowl).

Her body language, tone and lake of respect ruined a lunch date with my baby boy, we had an appointment at 11am and this food took 25 minutes to be (not) prepared arrived at 10:40.

No solution was offered, no respect or kindness.

I' am not one to dob but this was a horrible start to a beautiful day & i am sorry for ruining yours xx with this review but the atmosphere, menu and potential of this place needs the honesty of this review.

The staff were friendly and the bagel was good. A bit disappointed they were unable to make a skinny latte as they had run out of skinny milk, despite the supermarket being across the road. The soy replacement was fine. We enjoyed sitting outdoors in the deck chairs. The plants for sale in the store are...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently visited this cafe and was thoroughly impressed. The charming ambiance, friendly staff, and outstanding coffee made it a delightful experience. I'll be returning soon!
