If you want to know what banh mi is supposed to taste like, walk right past the ghost town of the vegan shop and step into the place next door. The difference is night and day. One offers limp lettuce and tofu sermons; the other offers food. Real food.
The shop next door still remembers what makes banh mi the king of sandwiches: crackling bread that bites back, fillings that actually have flavor, and the kind of balance you only get from tradition done right. Bite into theirs and you’ll remember why banh mi took the world by storm in the first place, it’s an orchestra of taste, not a dirge for rabbit food.
Meanwhile, their neighbors abandoned their roots to chase some delusional dream of pleasing yoga-mat warriors and crystal collectors. The result? An empty dining room and the stale smell of broken promises. The crowd that actually eats banh mi: workers, locals, people who care about flavor, are all packed into the shop next door, where the line is proof enough of who got it right.

Read morePurchased the same bread before and when you hear about price increase, this reached the extreme. Just purchased a butter tiger french stick with egg butter and pate The sign says $1.80 went to pay and nearly fell over. $12.60. I went to ask again to clarify, she lady confirmed and said it's french bread and butter that's why. A block of French butter at the shops cost $8.00 maximum, so that makes no sense. Did they fly the bread and butter over from France because that price is atrocious. Maybe let the customer know that it'll cost $12 with the proper sign so people know the actual price first. It's like a scam, customer orders already and feels awkward to cancel it. That's probably the only way they sell it Footscray Nhu Ngoc Bakery charges $3 for butter bread french stick with pate and egg butter is $3.60. French Chilli bakery is such a rip off. Will never purchase from them again. Warning the Butter French Tiger...

Hi guys, today I had the pleasure of trying ever so hyped Fresh Chilli Deli in Sunshine. Well, the place was packed and the staff was pumping out orders. The place has a typical Sunshine and asian vibe to it, which I like. I had to wait, probably 10 minutes as it was lunchtime. Staff's good, I asked them to make grilled chicken Banh Mi with extra chilli and that's excatly what I got... Extra chilli 🌶. The roll was good, however their rolls are slightly small and the quantity of chicken was less as well when compared to others that I've had at various places. The bun and the salad was fresh. I would like to go back there again and give them another shot. If you like Banh Mi and you live in or around Sunshine, I recommend you should definitely try. Also, guys, please follow me and my reviews as I try to review as accurately as possible for the general...
