I don't know who's leaving these positive reviews or how much the restaurant is paying for them, but it certainly wasn't our experience. We orders two simple pizzas over the phone for pickup and got hung up on before the order was finished, when I called back the same person answered and I again confirmed the order and asked about timing and was told 15 mins. We went to the restaurant after 20 mins to find that only one pizza was made and the other one would be another 30 mins. We took what was made and left.
The restaurant was busy and there were only 3 staff working, the person taking the order clearly didn't speak enough english to be answering the phone and taking orders. We won't be coming back to this restrurant again.

I had a friend there with me that can vouch for what happened, not to mention the other customers waiting around for service. I don't get any benefit in leaving negative review's, I want other customers to be aware of what happened. You can deny it all you want it doesn't bother me, it's your business at the end of the day. The reality is that I wasn't the first to leave a negative review and I won't be the last. You can either be in denial or you can do something about it. Read moreAfghan Star was my first ever Afghani food experience and I was impressed with the quality of the food. I've only ever had takeaway from Afghan Star until this evening and everything I've had takeaway has been great. Generous serves and everything is so flavourful.
Tonight, we decided to eat in and we were blown away with the freshness and standard of the food. I already thought it was amazing as takeaway but it was top notch served hot and fresh. So far we've had Lamb qorma with qabuli rice, chicken kebabs, tikka kebab (lamb skewers), jooja kebab (chicken skewers), chalaw kebab (mince kebab), chicken biryani (this one's spicy). And the bread would have to be my fav. You can have it with anything. It's giant, fluffy with a woodfired crunch to it.
Restaurant is basic and staff are shy but obliging. The quality, flavour and generous serves of the food definitely makes up for it! I'll struggle to go back to having it as takeaway seeing as how much we enjoyed the food dining in. 3 people fed for $60 incl 2 cans of soft drink. But we'll get at least another 3 individual meals from the leftovers. Just ask to takeaway the leftovers and they'll give you containers to DIY....
Read moreWhile the food was delicious, the behavior of some of the staff completely ruined our experience. My family and I visited the restaurant earlier today, and things quickly took a turn when my husband asked one of the male workers for a salad. It seems the worker didn't hear him, so my husband went up to him to kindly ask again.
To our shock, the worker became hostile and yelled, "Why are you disrespecting me? This is Australia, respect me!" He then added, "If you're gonna disrespect me, then never come to this restaurant. I'm not forcing you to come." My husband was confused because he hadn't raised his voice or been rude in any way. He calmly returned to the table, only to have the worker come back five minutes later and slam our food down on the table.
The food might be great, but that kind of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. It's disappointing that a visit to a restaurant could be ruined by poor service. I won’t be returning, and I hope the management...
