Gotcha Fresh Tea — Restaurant in Melbourne

The drinks are similar to any other Gotcha, but the difference with this store is the poor service. All staff look unhappy working here, they never ever take your order with a smile, and they're VERY tight with the loyalty card. Like how dare you want a stamp on your card?! You can't get a free drink until you pay for a drink to stamp the 'free drink' circle... so it takes 11 drinks then to get a free one?! Oh you are redeeming a free drink and you bought a drink in the same order? Nah you don't get a stamp for the drink you paid for! They don't bother to take your name or even give you a number/receipt you're expected to just get your own when you notice its there.

I have noticed the drink quality has gone down over time, sometimes they're quite watery and don't taste nice. I do believe the Gotcha brand has better quality drinks than other brands, better tasting flavours, less artificial taste etc BUT you wouldn't believe it from this store. Too much variability in the way the drinks are made order to order, so I tend to avoid buying from here now even though they have a captive market being the sole provider of bubble teas at brickworks.

Be careful going off the pictures or the banners, you may assume something comes with toppings/pearls BUT it may no longer come with them. So always clarify before paying what you actually get included in your drink.

EDIT: Just took off a star because today's order failed to include my paid for jelly topping. Again, they didn't give a...

We popped in about an hour ago and there was a customer before us. My sister and I were next and a lady came at the back of us and asked if we were waiting and we said yes. She said ok. The lady in front of us finished and we came in. The boy at the counter immediately said to the lady at the back of us sorry she was here first. The lady then spoke for us saying no these girls were here before me. So he then served us. My sister said her order but he just looked at us blank. My sister had to repeat the order a few times before he responded. She even said the size she wanted several times but it seemed like he could not hear. He even pointed at the one empty cup you had for reference for sizes and so my sister pointed at it. If he is hard of hearing then it's understandable but it was bizarre. Then the lady behind us went to order and he said to her, sorry about that before while in earshot of us. Please speak to your staff about customer service. We work in the industry so please be kind to people and be aware of your surroundings before assuming someone cut in the line. We didnt say anything there because there was a little boy eagerly waiting for his drink who didnt deserve to witness us telling your employee off. The girl behind the counter making the drinks did a wonderful job so please let her know. Drinks didnt take long to make and my sister enjoyed her drink which is why I gave 2 stars...

First time trying the only milk tea shop in this centre. Looking forward to a regular cup of milk tea after a nice Japanese meal. Choose a cup of new cantaloupe milk tea for $6.8, you don't even need to choose the amount and sweetness of ice? Well, maybe this flavor is not selected by default.... The clerk used pre-filled homemade jelly in plastic cups, filled with green fructose, filled with some tea, some powder, and milk. Done in 2 minutes. Didn't even shake it with the Shaker Milk Tea Mixer... Seeing how easy it is to finish, I don't even think it's worth $6.8, thinking it's okay, as long as it's okay to drink. I am not a picky person, and I have never googled which one. After two sips on the way home, I even felt suspicious of life. I actually drank the worst "milk tea" I've ever had in over 30 years! ! It turned out to be sour, the sweetness only came from the jelly at the bottom, I'm sure I ordered milk tea, not yogurt bumped tea? I decided to give up and keep drinking it. But thinking of the sour taste, I even suspect that it is not the misplaced yogurt, but the expired yogurt! I was so disgusted that I immediately pulled over to the side of the road, opened it up to check and smell it. The lid and the rim of the cup are full of granular bubbles, I'm sure they're not pureed from fresh cantaloupe, either the milk powder hasn't dissolved, or it's the sediment of expired milk! It smells like cantaloupe fructose, tea, and yogurt. I decided to call to make a complaint, but the phone number provided by google could not be dialed because it was an empty number. I can only comment here so owners can see their products and investigate. I actually really want them to check their milk ingredients right away so that more guests don't have the same nausea and regret experience I have. I believe that a responsible owner will investigate this matter clearly. Hey, maybe I'll be going to the toilet in less than half an hour.
