Overpriced with rude staff and false advertising! Not even authentic Japanese food. I ordered the Vegetarian Udon #22 and what I got looked nothing like the picture. The picture on the board showed snow peas, mushrooms, the white flat vegetable called naruto, green beans, corn, carrot and seaweed. The vegetables I got were the corn and carrot, and then they just put big chunks of broccoli & cauliflower in, a tiny bit of seaweed in the bottom. I did get the tofu, but again, it looked nothing like the picture. Total rip off. Took it back and asked why I didn't have snow peas and mushrooms like the picture, the girls talked amongst themselves then said "we don't have these ingredients" and I said nobody told me I wouldn't get the ingredients I paid for when I ordered. I stood there really annoyed as nobody said sorry or was going to do anything they were all looking at me like "bad luck" and I said "that's not good enough! It's a rip off!" and then the same girl said "this is an old picture" and I told them they need to change the picture if that's not what they are serving now. A different girl, the one who served me originally got the money out of the till and offered to take back the meal. I gave her the note back and kept the change and walked off with the crappy udon. Complete rip off AVOID THIS PLACE staff are so rude and their bain-marie food looks rank they don't even rotate it just plonk the next lot...
Read morePoor service and even worse food This is a Japanese influenced food outlet at South Wharf in Melbourne. Sorry to say that the service is really poor - as in they dont even seem to acknowledge you as a customer in their rush to get your order through and move you on! The food itself is poor to fair in my rating of such outlets. We went today and ordered two bento boxes and a Japanese pancake. The pancake was almost inedible and seemed to be composed mostly of potato (see image). My other half had the tempura bento box and was annoyed that the first tempura he bit into had no filling!! (next image). My recommendation if you find yourself hungry at South Wharf is to go for the Subway (you know what you'll get and the quality is consistent) or the stand alone cafe at the base of the escalator where the food is better and they serve...
Read moreI do not want to write bad review about any place but this place made me feel terrible and I have to write immediately after purchasing food. 17-18 AUD for a sukiyaki bento box but it’s totally not worth for the price. Bad attitude from the staff, she did not even look at me when giving me my food ? of course no “thank you”, no “smiling”, just her poker face and so disrespectful when I said thank you to her and she just walk away ? I dont know what bad things happened to her butplease be friendly as a staff when serving people. WE PAY FOR OUR FOOD NOT BEGGING FOR IT! The food is bad, wrong type of rice and also dry rice, overcooked and salty meat, this is THE WORST service I have ever go through...
