Poorly Made Dumplings
Teri Lai Edit Rooftop bars and hidden entrances are a big thing I've been told so we wanted to check this place out. You can either enter off the back alley and walk up 4 floors or enter through Machi Machi on the other side of the building and take the elevator up most of the way. It's a intimate little rooftop bar with fairy lights that I'm sure look super cute In the evening. We seated ourselves at the back overlooking the city on a beautiful sunny afternoon. My husband got a blood orange margarita that was delicious but tiny for $14(?) and I had a refreshing guava fizzer . We were craving some light snacks and naively chose the soup dumplings and the chicken & prawn dumplings. Both sets of dumplings were poorly made, with thick skins and mostly like made from frozen. The soup dumplings lacked soup in them. The chicken prawn dumplings skin was exceptionally thick with over cooked sticky skin. Unfortunately they tried to attempt some Asian cuisine and failed miserably.
Other than the view I'm inclined to try somewhere else especially when it comes to dumplings I'll stick to the Chinatown shops
Rooftop bars and hidden entrances are popular, so we decided to check out this place. You can enter through the back alley and walk up four floors, or go through Machi Machi on the other side of the building and take the elevator most of the way up. The rooftop bar is cozy with charming fairy lights, which must look lovely in the evening. We chose a table at the back, with a stunning view of the city on a sunny afternoon. My husband ordered a blood orange margarita, which was delicious but small for $14(?). I had a refreshing guava fizzer.
We were in the mood for some light snacks and ordered the soup dumplings and chicken and prawn dumplings. Unfortunately, both types of dumplings were poorly made, with thick skins that tasted like they were made from frozen. The soup dumplings lacked soup, and the chicken and prawn dumplings had exceptionally thick, gooey skin. Although the establishment attempted to serve Asian cuisine, they failed miserably.
Apart from the view, I am inclined to try a different place, especially for dumplings. I'll stick to the shops...
Read morewhere to begin, I organised my birthday drinks here because I googled rooftops online and thought why not try this place out. I had emailed and sent a live chat email asking about there reservations and I had not received a response. So I assumed it would be okay to go there considering it was a rooftop. Once I got there, the extremely unprofessional staff told me that apparently they don’t have a standing bar And everyone must be seated. I told them that I had roughly 20 people coming through, however apparently having my friend sit separately so that they can sit comfortably wasn’t an option. I was told by the extremely rude staff that they had to move my friends onto one table. After all that, one of the staff told me that they had to start removing my friends because apparently they had reservations and that I didn’t reserve the tables. After I tired explaining to them I was unaware that I had to reserve as it was a question on my email that was unanswered they told me it was basically not their problem as my reservation was not confirmed. I had told them them thAt it was impossible for me to reserve if I did not receive a response but they did not seem to understand. After all that my friends were also put into a situation where they were basically threatened to call the police on them because the bill for all the tables were left on them... even though everyone had paid off there stuff. Basically they were trying to over charge us for stuff we hadn’t even purchased. . It is not a place to be, the staff are rude and unprofessional, the whole set up is ridiculous and I will never recommend it to anyone. They ruined my birthday celebration and will never go back there now. DO NOT GO TO GOLDILOCKS, if you do so, make sure it’s less than 4 people and you had a reservation, otherwise they will make...
Read moreWent to celebrate my best friends birthday (which she attempted to make a reservation for but never received an answer to her enquiries online which was already a handful of stress to deal with) casually at a new venue she wanted to try and it was just horrible to see her get completely grieved and have her special day RUINED by rude, un-compassionate staff who had no understanding or even the slightest most basic customer service skills.
From the moment of arrival til we were forcefully and rudely pressured to leave the venue to make room for "other potential customers" - just showed a complete lack of appreciation or value for their current and present customers/ business which I found absolutely hilarious. The did not even TRY to accomodate us in any way, and treated our presence as more of an inconvenience which I found distasteful and strange considering the nature of the venue - a SOCIAL SPOT.
They continually tried to cramp us all up in a corner and had a total disregard for "taking care" of their customers and making sure we were enjoying our experience. Couldn't even ask the bar staff for a drink without being told to "sit back down and wait for the waiter to come to you" in the most rudest way ever.
Left us all feeling very uncomfortable and anxious when we just wanted to spend a chilled out Sunday amongst friends having drinks and chats. Also, tried to double charge the entire remaining bill upon leaving, and made an already sour experience, even more bitter. A shame that such a nice venue is completely ruined by the attitudes and demeanour of poorly trained, rude, and inconsiderate staff. Never received service so bad in my life! Will never visit again, and will not be recommending to any family, friends or...
