Grill'd Burgers - Watergardens — Restaurant in Melbourne

We placed an order through the Grill’d website and when the delivery driver came to our house without our orders, he told us that the food was picked up by a different driver. It was getting late and our order had not arrived. The driver came to our place stating that he was allocated to pick up our order but was told by Grill’d staff that our order was already taken by another driver. We called the store at Watergardens and was advised to give feedback to Doordash. We ordered the food through Grill’d website so they have the responsibility to meet their customer’s orders, not Doordash. We were passed on to different staff but they were not very helpful at all. Spoke to the team leader Michael, who said that this was out of their control. They told us to go and get food from somewhere else. This was the WORST response from a staff who already left customers with no food for a night knowing that there is a curfew in place in Victoria and nowhere to get food. We waited on the phone for 30mins. Where do they expect us to get food? The phone was passed on to another staff who even stated that whatever happened is not their fault. Whose fault is it then? If they are blaming Doordash, as customers, we didn’t choose Doordash to deliver our food as Grill’D is partnered with them and so whoever orders on their website will receive the order through DoorDash. Grill’d Watergardens did not take the responsibility and would not process the refund for us either. We were advised to go to their website and request for refund. What kind of service is this? They left very unhappy, annoyed and hungry customers and they can’t process the refund for their customers???? This has been the WORST experience I’ve ever had in terms of ordering food and delivery. GRILL’D delivery service is hopeless and unreliable. There was no resolution made except the advise to “Request the refund from the Grill’d website” and order from another restaurant. Not helpful. Very poor customer service. It ruins the reputation of Grill’d overall. We were left with no food. Where our orders went? We still don’t even know. Horrid restaurant. After ordering was advised to sit on table 1. Table 1 was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. Advised staff and told to just find a clean table. Of the 14 tables 11 filthy and leftovers on tables. Hadn’t been cleaned in hours- 5 staff members behind the counter by the way. Pidgeons walking around freely in restaurant eating the endless crumbs all over the joint, which bothered the kids- but staff not fussed at all, my 7 year old even promted staff about the issue which was ignored. When order arrived, they stuffed it up. My daughters mini me pack arrived in a flat gluten free bun which wasn’t ordered. Advised staff who apologised and proceeded to remove the meat and cheese with her glove (god knows where this glove had been) and made another,- by the time this happened our meals were cold. No offer to refund extra for the gluten free bun which I’m sure we paid more for. No serviettes topped up on our table or surroundings.
