Grill'd Carnegie used to be what many considered the flagship store - what happened? My friend and I went for dinner last night and to say it was thoroughly disappointing and that we totally blew our money is an understatement. We were met by absolutely disinterested staff on a quiet night and were told it was an 8-minute wait fir food; no problem as we were eating in. My friend's meal came and she wanted to wait until mine came, but sadly, it didn't. When we finally able to tell someone, they showed total indifference to the matter and just stared ahead, without acknowledging what I had said, very politely too, I might add. 35 minutes later and my friend sat there with stone cold food, I asked again if mine was on the way. This was treated as news that they had not yet received (?) and advised they would get on the order and that to make up for the cockup, that they would give my friend a new burger, given hers was stone cold. Just shy of a hour in total, my meal turned up and the burger was nothing like the Grill'd experience from the past, with a totally tasteless burger filled with poor quality ingredients. Sadly, the replacement burger for my friend that was promised turned out to be only the bun, nothing more. We decided to ditch the hopeless scence, despite having paid for 2 meals, and go and eat elsewhere. Staff didn't notice us leaving; there were other more juicy topics to discuss....
Read moreWe arrived at Grill’d Carnegie around 8:10 PM and placed our order. While leaving at approximately 8:30 PM, we overheard several staff members laughing loudly and making the comment, “Sorry guys because we are full of Chinese.” This comment was made in a mocking tone and was followed by laughter from the staff members involved, including the person who took our order and the staff preparing the food.
As Chinese customers, we found this comment extremely offensive and hurtful. We believe that this behavior constitutes racial discrimination as defined under the Racial Discrimination Act 1975, Section 18C, which prohibits acts that offend, insult, humiliate, or intimidate individuals based on their race.
In addition to the discriminatory comment, the quality of the food we received was significantly below the standard we have come to expect from Grill’d. The burger was burnt and the bun was dry, making it bitter to taste. The fries were excessively salted to the point of being inedible. We believe this may have been a deliberate act of disrespect.
This incident left us feeling deeply disrespected, humiliated, and uncomfortable. As regular customers, we were shocked by this treatment and feel that it has significantly impacted our perception of the...
Read moreI had a look at the ratings and decided to eat at Grill'd Carnegie. It didn't go well at all. First of all I didn't get what I order. I would recommend not to pick Big Kid's burger item on the menu. This is because I ordered one and I got my burger without the cheese and carrot as mentioned in the menu. When I complained about the cheese the waitress just added a slice cheese without heating it. When I complained about it to the lady on the counter. She said "I thought you wanted cheese on the side". I was shocked to see the lack of imagination/ignorance. Have you ever seen someone eating cheese with a burger? Seriously? If you are reading this review, please think twice before you talk to the customer. I received my burger cold and it didnt taste well. I guess after reading this review, you might guess the reason behind it. I think first of all.. the menu item "Big Kids.." is too much value which killed their interests. Secondly, It was probably closing time and they were rushing to pack up. My suggestion would be, that if you cant afford, take it off your menu. Secondly and more important, if you want to close early stop taking orders. My suggestion would be to refrain ordering post 8-8:30pm ish when it is...
