Four-Star Food Odyssey: Paradai Thai Carnegie
Hold onto your napkins, fellow food enthusiasts, because Paradai Thai Carnegie is about to send your taste buds on an exciting journey!
Entering the restaurant feels like stepping into a bustling Bangkok marketplace, where the atmosphere buzzes with a unique blend of energy and charm. The staff zip around like culinary marathon runners, taking orders and delivering plates brimming with tantalizing Thai delights. Rest assured, amid this vibrant bustle, their mission is to ensure your dining experience is a memorable one.
Now, let's talk about the food. Paradai's menu is a sensory tour de force through Thailand's rich culinary landscape. Each dish is a symphony of flavors—sweet, sour, spicy, and salty—all working in harmonious unison. The aroma alone, wafting from your plate, is enough to get your taste buds doing a happy dance in anticipation.
Just a friendly word of advice for my fellow food adventurers—book ahead! Given Paradai's reputation for superb Thai fare, it often attracts a queue that extends right out the door. So, unless you're a fan of culinary torture—inhaling mouthwatering aromas without being able to partake—I'd strongly suggest making a reservation.
In a nutshell, Paradai Thai is a lively, vibrant, and delicious food expedition that every food lover should embark on. Sure, there might be a bit of a wait, but as every dedicated foodie knows, the best meals are often those we wait for. So, with that, I give Paradai Thai a well-earned four-star salute. Read moreThis is the first Thai restaurant, actually the first Asian restaurant, that refuses to give me freshly cut chilli with fish sauce. It’s shocking and mind boggling as they clearly use the two ingredients extensively. In fact, I’d ordered a papaya salad which actually both freshly cut chilli and fish sauce (which I eventually had to resort to because the Pad Thai was not spicy enough nor salty enough for me).
The waitress was very apologetic and said she doesn’t understand why the kitchen wouldn’t provide it. She said all previous restaurants she worked with were always happy to provide. She was nice about it, to her credit. I told her to tell her manager to change the policy and that I was planning to write a review. Food is average, a little under seasoned, nothing to shout about but the pricing reflects that so no complaints there.
Deco is breezy and pleasant, and not noisy. That’s due to the fact it was only 30% full at 730 on a Friday evening. For a Koornang Road restaurant to be that empty on a Friday evening indicates that the restaurant needs to up its game to survive.
And no, I definitely won’t be...
