I'll do the most honest review to this place, at the beginning we DISLIKE but now we really LOVE this place.
First time we ordered with them was during lock down, in that moment we don't like the food, nachos was soggy and tacos as-well, we call them and they apologised about it, and they offered us to try again even with different meals. Well we understand one part of delivery is restaurant and other part is delivery drivers.
Second time we tried it was take away, we asked for recommendations, was a good option because the girl who attend us offered meals which you can wait until you're at home, that day we tried Quesadillas, Spanish Paella, and Vegan Chimichanga, (BTW they have VEGAN cheese and vegan aioli)! and we got some churros gift from the house. It was really tasty!
Third time we come back was for dine in, this time we tried again Nachos, Tacos, (both was so fresh and tasty!) and we tried Fajitas, we asked to take out onions because we are not big fans. And the same girl who take our order before, was same heedful because she explained to us which ingredients are cook with onions, and she offered put it on the side. Same day we tried some cocktails, Pina Chipotle, Coconut Lychee and La Paloma (they have spicy margaritas, frozen margaritas, sweet margaritas) All drinks was SO YUMMY!
Last time, we decided to celebrate a birthday party, we book around 8:15 pm because they explained to us is much easier for them to give good service for big groups if it's before or after peak time. (So if you're thinking in have a big party, take the advice!) Food was delicious, guacamole flavour is really fresh and perfect (this girls always want to you add guac, now we know why) fish and chorizo taco is the best we only feel sad because we wanted to tried their special vegan menu, but the rest it was divine. This time we sit in the courtyard, beautiful, colourful and fascinating. Service was kind, clean and attentive, girls always are smiling and singing. Drinks highly recommend, even if you want non alcoholic.
9 to 10 stars to this lovely Mexican place. Next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been regular customers for a while now. We loved the food every time and have had no complaints. We have recommended this place to many of our family and friends. However our most recent visit here was very disappointing.
During our recent visit here we ordered our usual order of seafood burrito. It was very different this time. The barramundi was cold in some parts and barely warm in some. The fish definitely did not taste fresh and it was grey in color. I know for a fact that this fish is usually white when cooked and tastes fresh. Echoing some other comments here the plate was hotter than the food. We informed the waitstaff who then came back and told us that "the fish had been cooked perfectly and it was only a little cold. If it was cooked more it would become hard and rubbery". They then proceeded to tell me that if "I did not like the taste of the fish they could remove it". I was completely appalled by this because if the fish was cooked so "perfectly" WHY is cold, tasted and looked so obviously not fresh. Also that it was MY problem that I did not like the taste of the fish. I requested a new dish without the fish and the one they brought out had maybe 3 pieces of prawns and two scallops. The seafood did not taste fresh at all. I struggled to eat it because it tasted bad. The whole dish was also unflavorful and soggy and not up to their usual standards. The drinks were also very weak and didn't taste good at all. Not only did they blame me for having a problem with the dish, but did not offer any sort of compensation at all. We still had to pay full price for the dish without any sort of apology.
We are so disappointed at this and will not be...

Mexican places have usually been good for the Gluten Free, but with a revamp to their menu, Hecho en Mexico have gone hard on the vegan/vegetarian side while eschewing a lot of gluten free options. We were told there are no GF options on their dessert menu, after a vanishingly-small number of mains options.
How a rice pudding dish can end up with gluten in it is beyond my comprehension.
My GF dining partner ordered the three types of taco that were marked as "GF". I ordered the stuffed jalapenos and the chicken burrito.
I asked for all of it to come out at once so my dining partner wasn't sitting and waiting for me to eat the jalapenos.
What happened was that my food was brought to the table with a message saying that the vegetable taco wasn't gluten free, which precipitated changing the order and me eating while she waited for her food.
When the tacos did appear they were pretty meagre and unsatisfying.
The burrito and the jalapenos were tasty (no complaints), however both came with a few of corn chips scattered around the plate... all were stale.
Hecho en Mexico used to be a semi-regular place for us to go eat... maybe not anymore. Not just because of the indifferent service, but the menu just doesn't work for us anymore. Where there used to be a grilled chicken (GF) option, now it's...
