Hot Wings Charcoal Chicken & Salad Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

My boyfriend grew up in Williamstown and introduced me to this gem. I am American and this homely joint was my first introduction to chicken salt and I am in love! Every single time we go, the hot chips do not disappoint at all. I compare every potato I eat to here. They have the nicest staff and always loads up the bag with a ton of chips. If there is ever not enough in the tray, they always give a nice hot fresh batch to us. Everyone says thank you and bye when we walk out and it makes me feel wonderful. I think about this place at least once a day. If I am having a bad day, my boyfriend takes me here. If I am having a good day, my boyfriend also takes me here. I pray that this place never ever closes, and if I ever have to move back to America, nothing makes me more sad than not having these chips. We love you guys and we love your chicken salt chippies

Good customer service, seemed very friendly & working hard due to mass amount of people In the store. Ordered an extra large charcoal chicken & a large chips, the chicken came right of the spit being very fresh and juicy. The chips are an A++ from me and my dad as every other time we go to a fish and chip place ordering a large, the fish and chip shop’s, generally stinge you and we are very big eaters but the amount of chips they gave where if anything too much.. how you want it. Salt on the chips perfect, if you are a heavy salt lover standard isn’t enough you have to ask for more.. but the chips had a good crust and weren’t too oily or burnt at all. Amazing portion sizes, watching them work doing other people meals and seeing the servings they put out KILLS the current fish and chip...

I live within walking distance of this place. Have been multiple times but after each time wonder why I go back. It’s the only charcoal chicken place in Williamstown. Ordered two 3 piece meals and a quarter chicken and chips. Plus a Greek Salad and small scallop potatoes because they won’t replace the coleslaw that comes with the three piece salad for those salads yet I was charged for this. It took me 5 mins to explain what I wanted to the woman behind the counter ( not the only time I’ve had issues trying to explain what I want to order with this person ). Turns out I got one 3 piece meal not two. When I returned they asked me if I wanted to buy more. I told them not to worry about it and walked out. They’re hopeless and it was the final straw for me....
