Nice place ....."noicer" if they put soap in the toilets and occasionally emptied the ashtrays and wiped down the spilt, stale beer from the tables......
Post # 2. Thank you for your reply "owner". As far as i can remember, Its the first time anyone from your establishment has ever done so. Well done! I look forward to improvements in general cleanliness in the future.
Post#3 December 2023 Please completely disregard all the images of delicious food....especially burgers "Parmas" etc etc..........they do not even have a half decent food service anymore. The have a industrial style Air Fryer for Chips (which are pretty awful) and other "snacks." As well as "toasties" and muffins. The whole section that used to be the restaurant is empty, save for a pool table "air hockey" table and some other ancient arcade game. I think they use the area for "poker" once a week. (surprise , surprise). Nonetheless people still go to 'The Rifle" primarily exists for the numerous Poker Machines. There is very little atmosphere in this joint. At least when the restaurant was functional you would get families visit and have meals. Now they just rely on the Pokies to pay salaries and make a profit and keep the lights on. I wonder what they will do when the new Gambling Legislation and rules come into affect next year. Hopefully they can and will pivot and have a more family friendly and local friendly venue. Did i hear you say live Music and Bands??
Post#4 Dec 2024 So first see above. This club has joined the new Pub+ system. Its a scam. Its a combination on Pub+ Card and an App you download. They lure you in to sign up for the program with an initial $10 to spend or use on the card. After that you accumulate points by scanning the App or placing your card into a poker machine. Its a little like Frequent Flyer points .......takes forever to accumulate enough points to use them effectively. Also the whole points system is not transparent and not even the staff know how it really works....they just shrug their shoulders. Doesn't give the punter or customer much confidence in the system. The Monty's System card worked much better. Also.............you can only take advantage any monthly drink specials if you have the App!!........This is where Newport Social Club (Seagulls) does soooooo much better . They have happy hour 4-6 weekdays (all beers some wine) and monthly beer specials can be Great Northern, Carlton Draught or even Vic Bitter all $6 bucks!
Update July 2025: Please don't take anything "Chooch" says seriously. He/She/They obviously have either not been to the Rifle Club Hotel or just plain lying. Entertainment? What/the TV showing footy? Service ? What Service? With no restaurant there is very little food options? talking about Vibe. No mention of the sad, despondent and desperate people playing the addictive pokies?? It appears to me that "Chooch" is a "ring-in" asked to write a positive review (or maybe even paid?) by the Rifle Club. They have only written 2...

The Rifle Club in Williamstown is hands down one of the best spots to unwind, have fun, and enjoy a great night out. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with an inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends old-school charm with modern entertainment. Whether you're looking for a casual drink, some friendly competition at the pool tables, or a trip down memory lane in the arcade section, this place has it all.
One of the biggest highlights of the Rifle Club is the incredible staff (jassa & tarnie). The team here goes above and beyond to make sure every customer feels welcome and valued. They’re friendly, attentive, and always up for a chat, creating an atmosphere that feels like home. Whether you're a regular or stepping in for the first time, you’re treated with the same level of warmth and hospitality. It's clear that the staff genuinely care about making your experience enjoyable, and that alone sets this place apart from many others.
Now, let’s talk about the arcade section—an absolute nostalgia trip! They’ve got a fantastic selection of classic and modern arcade games, bringing back that childhood excitement of smashing high scores and challenging your friends. It's the perfect addition to a venue like this, adding an extra layer of fun beyond just drinks and socializing. You can spend hours in this section alone, and it never gets old.
The pool tables are another major highlight. Well-maintained, spaciously set up, and ideal for both casual games and serious matchups. There’s nothing better than grabbing a drink, racking up the balls, and enjoying a few rounds with mates in a relaxed yet lively setting. Unlike some venues where pool tables feel like an afterthought, the Rifle Club takes pride in making sure they’re a key part of the experience.
Beyond all that, the overall vibe of the place is just unbeatable. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back evening, a fun night out with friends, or even a solo visit to enjoy a drink and play some games, the Rifle Club delivers. The drinks are reasonably priced, the entertainment is top-tier, and the staff make sure you're having an amazing time. It’s rare to find a venue that nails all these aspects so well, but this place does it effortlessly.
I can’t recommend the Rifle Club enough. If you’re in Williamstown and looking for a spot that offers fantastic service, great entertainment, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. Five stars...
Read moreSecurity told us to leave even though we were trying to get water for our friend who was really drunk. No security was at the door so we walked straight in. Got told we need to leave within 5 minutes because of liquor licences even though we just wanted some water. Disgraceful
This edit is a reply to your response - Being compliant to your liquor licensing means giving people water. Last time I checked, licensed venues that supply alcohol are required to supply water for free, regardless of how intoxicated a person is. I just wanted to get my friend some water (because your bar staff we're serving my partner alcohol) but apparently that's not something you're capable of, instead you'd rather yell at young girls and tell them to leave because one of them is a little drunk and you don't want to deal with it. Don't let people into your venue if you're not willing to attend to them and abide by your liquor...
