Was served by the chubby guy with the man bun who was the rudest bar person I've ever met. My senior citizen father ordered was visiting from interstate for my birthday and ordered a beer and some pizza and the guy handed my father cutlery and went to his table waiting for the man to bring his drink over. 20 minutes later he went to the bar and asked where the drink was. Apparently the guy had taken 10 minutes to pour the beer then placed it on the bar counter after dad had gone to the table then poured it down the sink. He then waited at his table for about 45 minutes for his pizza. Ours arrived after 15 minutes but this time the pizza was filled with sugar and tasted horrible. My father went to ask where his pizza was and the lying manbun staff member claimed he never ordered one. My father showed his credit card statement and the guy stood there stuffing his face with food lying to his face. We then asked about the sugary pizza and finally discovered they had a new chef, who had screwed up the order. It took ten minutes of showing proof of purchase before the younger manager (who was a lot nicer) came and my dads pizza money back and gave 2 new pizzas. My dad was traumatised. I liked this place but I will never go back here again whilst that incompetent manbun staff member is working there. I don't know how any workplace could accept such rudeness and lies...
Read moreI've wanted to try this place for ages as it ticks all my boxes. I finally got the chance this weekend. I was initially a little confused about how things worked, and I wasn't sure if I needed to wait to be seated or just plant myself wherever there was room. Turns out it was the latter. Once I found a table, I had to go back to the bar to find a menu, and then go back to the bar to order. No real problems with that, as it's definitely more of a pub vibe than a restaurant.
I ordered a couple of pizzas and a couple of drinks. Total was $87. Pizza came out not too long after. Decent wood fired dough with generous topppings. Pepperoni was good with nice heat from the pepperoni but I could hardly taste the tomato and the whole thing tasted underseasoned. Just a little bland. Margarita was also good, and I enjoyed the parmesan. My wife however, found the parmesan overpowering. I thought it added some much needed saltiness to the pizza, as again the tomato went missing and it tasted underseasoned.
I loved the outdoor vibe but it was really loud, so take that into consideration if you're going there for a first date or something. I loved all the plants and the tables were comfortable enough. No complaints about the staff.
I'd love to give this place 5 stars but the pizza just wasn't quite up to it. More flavour and acidity in the tomato and more salt, and it would be a definite...
Read moreAfter not visiting Hotel Lombardo for a while and coming back the other day, we must say the pizza has gone downhill. We enjoyed coming to Hotel Lombardo regularly for a pizza and a drink, even through the service was always terrible, that was kind of its charm. But after coming back after a few months, we can confirm the service is equally poor. Place seemed a lot less busy then in the past, maybe people have realised the quality of the pizza has gone way downhill. Pizza was an absolute soggy slop and was way undercooked. Crusts were burnt but the centre of the dough was totally undercooked and just a doughy sloppy mess. We ordered 2 pizzas, the picante and the primavera prosciutto, the prosciutto was so undercooked and doughy that we had to send it back, as it was actually raw in the centre. When I walked the pizza back to the counter and informed the guy behind the bar that the pizza was raw and we couldn’t eat it, he greeted us with a nice roll of the eyes, shoulder shrug and big sigh. They unexcitingly proceeded to make us a replacement, which to our surprise was also a sloppy mess. Look let’s be real, probably won’t be back here. Plenty of better pizza options opening up...
