One word Disgusting. The restraurant advertised Lunch Buffet, what buffet. It is a ripped off for what foods been offered. Only 4 choices .First choice was steam rice , the rice has burn bits and gluey , second choice was a pasta dish , the pasta look and taste horrible , third dish was deep fried spring roll and samoso , it was greasy cold and rubbery plus it has no dipping sauces, third choice curry chicken ,the dish look like "floating yellow poo "chunky chicken pieces floating in yellow sauce and all it taste is curry powder and very hot . The salad was just green leaves and so plain and dry. There was soup on offer but it was empty , asked the staff about the empty soup but nothing done about filling it.bread roll was offer for $2.00 per roll. That was all the food on offer. I look up the hotel Raddisson web site under HQ restraurant it stated " HQ's Buffet Lunch featuring a comprehensive selection of hot and cold dishes, and your choice of a glass of house beer, wine or beer" What comprehensive selection of hot food ,all you get is gluey burn rice and yellow floating curry and what comprehensive selection of cold dishes , only green leaves call salad. It is a joke , the restraurant HQ at Raddisson hotel should be ashamed to serve that kind of foods especially Raddisson hotel has a good reputation for their restraurant food .MacDonal food chain even have more selection..Sack or...
Read moreDelicious food to be found here at HQ's on William within the Radisson Hotel near Flagstaff Gardens. Attentive and professional staff in a comfortable modern restaurant. I had the salmon in a Thai broth which was delicious. This was preceded by an amazing pumpkin soup bursting with flavour with some lovely extra touches such as pieces of crumbled feta cheese to give a surprise. For dessert I had the creme brulee which was possibly the best creme brulee I have had in Melbourne. The custard was thick decadent and very tasty and the sugar coating on top was well formed and crunchy and made that very satisfying creme brulee crunch when hit with a spoon. My dining companion copied what I had except for the main course where they had the confit duck which I was fortunate enough to steal a little piece of and that was amazing I would like to try that next time to get the full experience. The wine list is quite good and the restaurant has some excellent deals for diners which represents excellent value. I'm looking forward to my next visit. It's probably also worth me mentioning the lovely view that this restaurant has out over the Flagstaff Gardens. We were there at night time but I think the view would be best enjoyed...
Read moreScrambled eggs and mushrooms were good, although the sausage and bacon were a but too salty for my liking. The tomato was a bit hard as well, but juicy. Potatoes were undercooked and bitter for some reason.
Service staff were generally great, especially the waiters, who were very professional and friendly. Can't say the same for the chef at the egg station, sadly. The guy disappears from his station most of the time, and seemed really unhappy and frustrated when I requested an extra over easy eggs on top of my omellete.
Worst of all, my order was missing when I went to the station to collect (and of course, he was conveniently missing as well...)! Some other customer must have taken them! Can only assume that either he lacks training in his job, or just really can't be bothered at all and is just there to collect pay check at the end of the day. Either way, left a bad impression on me in what was otherwise an above average dining experience. It takes one bad egg to ruin the entire...
