My husband & I stayed at the Jazz Corner Hotel Melbourne for one night.||I called the front desk a few hours before we got to the hotel to see if we could pull up in front of the hotel to drop off our luggage. The young man I spoke to assured me that we could park in front of the hotel for 10 minutes to check in & unload. When we got to the hotel after a long travel day, there were big orange cones in front of the hotel so there was no where to park. While my husband drove around the block, I went in & asked the young man at the desk where we should park to unload our luggage. He had a very thick accent & I could barely understand him but he said we should park in front of the hotel. I told him there were cones in the way & after a few minutes of telling me that is where we should park, he went outside & looked. He said they must have put the cones there due to construction so there was no place to park to unload. |He gave us very vague directions to the expensive parking garage & we finally got parked. ||After we checked in, we called the front desk to ask if we get a glass of ice. We were told that we could probably buy a bag of ice at a store about 5-10 minutes away. ||Customer service was lacking!||The Jazz Corner Hotel Melbourne is in a great location with a park right across the seat. It is very easy to walk to everything. The room is a nice size, nicely decorated & looks clean except for the couch that looks like some one discarded it & left it on the side of the road the pillows on the couch & the decorative pillows on the bed were disgusting! The television is in front of the couch, which we did not dare sit on because it looked so disgusting, & you could not turn it to watch it from the bed. ||There is a small combination Washer/dryer in the room is one reason I booked the Jazz Corner Hotel because we had just disembarked from a cruise but it took over two hours to wash a load of clothes & 4 hours & 10 minutes to dry them. We only washed a few things but our clothes were still not dry after over 4 hours in the dryer so I had to put them in a second time in the middle of the night. Our clothes came out...

Lint on all skirting boards and on carpet where furniture isn’t moved.
Stains on decrovative pillows, amentities re-used (shampoo bottles now screwed on, half used.
3rd and 4th stay here given a room that doesn’t include a sesting area - couch and coffee table.
Water runs out of shwer and with no drain creates a pool of water in the bathroom.
Windows are filfty. They can access to clean. Its so thick its obvious hasnt been done for months.
No glasses in the first room I was given, 2 wine glasses botg different. 2 forks, 4 knives, 1 spoon. No ice trays in fridges.
First room’s intercom/phone was broken. Lift/front door access for second room wouldn’t work.
I was transferred to a second room after complaining the first room was derilict and not at all like the photos on own website and booking. This was arranged first night, was asked to transfer at 10am. I went down at 11am and was told the room wasn’t ready. Hmm.. you would think the cleaning crew would have completed this room first being a guest transferring. So I went to the gym for 2 hours, came back - oh sorry its still not available. So here I am, no room, drenched with sweat and been asked to comr back at 2pm !?! Wow.
I finally get into the new room, go to have a shower, come out and realise i left my toiletries bag sitting on the toilet whilst packing up earlier that morning. I call up, they said they would check, to call back in 30mins (yes, call them back) I went down in an hour. Of course, they forgot.
I stayed there for the next two days. I had used the toiletries bag on the first night, i had it with me. But apparently it disappeared that morning when transferred. No one found it?!?
It was an expensive leather Country Road black bag with expensive items in it, including discontinued colognes.
Dont stay at this so called hotel. It’s actually run like a serviced apartment. The cleaning staff are outsourced and the office staff dont have hospitalty qualifications.
Ive stayed there 4 times, and during my stays they have gotten worse. The...
Read moreA 3-star hotel marketed as a 4-star. Upper management has clearly cut lots of corners to deceptively allow themselves to be labelled as a 4, however the quality of the hotel is definitely a 3 or maybe even lower. I feel very sorry for the staff to have to deal with all the complaints.
I was moved a couple of times upon checking in due to inaccurate descriptions of amenities available in the rooms and the absurd noise levels on the lower floors. I was 7 floors up and because the hotel is right next to a busy intersection with trams rattling past, it was incredibly loud even with the double glazed windows. The staff moved me up to the 32nd floor which was much quieter.
The bed was the best part of the room as it was very comfortable. Very nice views. However, it pretty much stops there.
The kitchen is extremely under equipped. Very minimal cookware and many completely unnecessary utensils are present but crucial basics are nowhere to be found. There's an oven, but not an oven tray. You're given a paper thin rag to use as a sponge that's more like a paper towel. One 15ml packet of dish soap. One tablet for the dishwasher. One packet of laundry powder. This is all supposed to last you for a week because housekeeping is only done on a weekly basis. You'll be making frequent trips to the front desk to ask for toilet paper and garbage bags.
Theres anti-theft coat hangers, a very basic bathroom, an extremely small mini fridge that sits in a huge space for a full size fridge THAT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE AN ICE BOX COMPARTMENT, and a washer/dryer combo with space for a dryer, but again the management has cut corners and it takes around 8hrs to dry your clothes to a damp level with the combo machine. There was a dryer in my noisy first room, why not in the others I was moved to?
If you're looking for a decent serviced apartment for a long stay, this is not it.
Good location for a short holiday and a few nights sleep, but living here for a few weeks...
