Huxtaburger, the epitome of mid-tier burger craftsmanship, where the expectation is low, and the disappointment is slightly lower. Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we?
So, I ordered the Bam Bam, a name that’s clearly designed to make you think you’re about to experience a flavor explosion, but what you really get is something more akin to a lackluster event at the local bingo hall. I requested it with no pickles, which, by the way, is clearly a genius move because pickles in a burger are like uninvited guests at a dinner party: loud, invasive, and completely unnecessary. But that’s about the highlight of my experience.
The burger, consisting of grilled chicken and white sauce, was as exciting as a Monday morning in a spreadsheet convention. There was nothing wrong with it, per se, but I was left wondering if I was supposed to be impressed or just satisfied enough not to complain. The grilled chicken had all the flavor of something that might have been cooked under duress, and the white sauce? Well, it was fine, if you enjoy the taste of ambiguity like a sauce that is indistinguishable from a mild case of mediocrity.
Now, let’s be honest: you could get a burger like this at McDonald’s if you’re tired of their monotonous menu and just want to feel like you’re doing something a bit more upscale with your life choices. But honestly, if McDonald’s is boring you, you’re either experiencing a deep existential crisis or are just seeking novelty for novelty's sake, neither of which this burger is going to solve. It’s not bad, it’s just... well, it’s just fine. Like a piece of plain toast, it’ll do, but no one’s writing songs about it.
In summary, Huxtaburger is the place you go when you want something a little different but don’t want to risk breaking the bank for it. If you live in a world where Maccas bores you and you’re looking for a slight improvement, Huxtaburger will deliver, but don’t expect a life-changing experience. Let’s be clear, it’s not bad—it’s just a burger, and a burger is just a burger unless you’re lucky enough to stumble upon something really special. Spoiler alert:...

I ordered two burgers and two large chips last night
I previously ordered food from huxtaburger and waited a small while but thought that I’d a once off. We waited closer to an hour for the food this time..
I started getting frustrated standing there waiting for my food, also in the meantime watching the staff prepare milkshakes in dirty shakers before pouring it into the takeaway cups. Then when she didn’t estimate the portions correctly, she then just poured milk into their highly priced milkshakes to make up the difference in quantity. I tried asking how long my burger might be and staff member proceeded to walk off to find out but not come back to advise me that I’d be waiting another 10 minutes still. With a night when they are trying to push a promotion, also being a Saturday night you would think the franchisee would put another team member on shift for the dinner rush!?
Once we got the food, my friends burger was really undercooked. With a lot of pink in the beef burger, a lot more then last time. The chips for both of us were cold and tasted really leathery and my chips didn’t even fill the cup. As a franchisee myself, I just saw things that shouldn’t happen. Not to mention the Uber drivers and deliveroo drivers knocking chairs and bumping into customers with the oversized large bags and wearing helmets in store. For the pricing of the food you should expect better from a burger chain especially with so much competition....
