If youâre on the hunt for hearty, flavorful, and reliably fresh Greek food, this spot is a real gem. With over 300 reviews and an impressive 4.5-star average, itâs clear that the community has already discovered what makes this place stand out. The menu might not be the longest in town, but its strength lies in simplicity: every dish feels carefully considered, executed well, and true to Greek street-food roots.
One of the highlights is the gyrosâwhether you go for chicken, lamb, or pork, the meat is consistently tender, seasoned beautifully, and served in warm, fluffy pita bread. The chicken gyros especially seem to be a crowd favorite, showing up in review after review for good reason. They balance flavor and texture perfectly: juicy protein paired with crisp lettuce, tangy tzatziki, and a pita that doesnât fall apart in your hands.
Beyond gyros, there are plenty of satisfying sides and combinations. The chips are hot, golden, and seasoned just right, often ordered alongside a wrap or lunch box for a complete meal. The lunch boxes deserve a special mention: theyâre filling, neatly presented, and perfect if you want something balanced without committing to a full dine-in spread. Portion sizes are generous without being overwhelming, making them a reliable choice for both a quick work lunch and a relaxed dinner.
Another strength here is the service. Multiple reviews highlight the teamâs friendliness and efficiency, and it matches the vibe you feel when you walk in. The space itself is cozy and casual, making it a comfortable stop whether youâre grabbing takeaway or sitting down to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere doesnât try too hardâitâs welcoming, warm, and all about the food.
For those who prefer to eat at home, the delivery option is smooth and dependable, with food arriving hot and fresh. Many locals mention ordering online regularly, especially for group meals where a spread of gyros, chips, and wraps easily satisfies everyone.
Overall, this Greek spot delivers on what it promises: tasty, consistent food at fair prices, paired with genuine service and a relaxed atmosphere. It might not be fine dining, but thatâs exactly the pointâitâs simple, satisfying, and a place youâll find yourself returning to...
Read more5 star place now down to 1 star. I don't say that lightly, too. Partner and I bought takeaway, and I got the mixed gyros plate. Picked it up and got home, found out that the salad and sauce to accompany the gyros plate was missing. No biggies, brought it back to replace (this was approx 15 mins from picking up the initial order). The server assumed that it would be okay just to give the missing items, and I'd be on my way. I told her that the remaining items would have gone cold by now and whether she could replace it with a warmer order. She agreed and spoke to the kitchen staff to replace. When I got home, I found out that they had just replaced the bread, but the chips and meat were cold. Clearly, they lied and gave me back my original order, which was cold by then. Very disappointing experience. I get that the place was very busy, being a Friday and Valentines Day rush was happening. But to lie about replacing meat and chips after having to go back for the missing items (to probably save money, instead of dumping the cold food) is very disappointing and left a sour taste in my mouth. I've been here plenty of times, and overall, the food was great. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be...
Read moreI had almost given up trying out souvlaki shops in Melbourne for the last 3 to 4 years, All I wanted was a humble souvlaki (Gyros wrap made properly and with a bit of love and some respect for the customer, when you are served uneatable food you certainly are being disrespected) I have wasted money and time for well below average food, most of them using the same useless "pita bread"đĄ Plaka Gyros uses proper pita bread made in Greece!!!!! A few months ago a friend mentioned Plaka Gyros, I have been there several times with family and friends, We have tried a few different items on the menu, and every time they impressed me with their food quality and the service, Everything has been fresh, cooked properly, and very tasty, For me, they make (equally with this other shop that I don't want to mention here) the best souvlaki (Gyros wrap) in Melbourne! Well done Plaka Gyros, Keep up the good work.
Edit: Don't thank me, I just said it the way I saw it, Thank you for being there and for you effort to serve us...
