ORDERED: 🥪 Katz Deli Tribute: New York Style Pastrami, sauerkraut, 6 months Gruyere swiss cheese, Jimmy’s ‘FAMOUS’ sauce, Authentic light rye sourdough ($16.00) 🥪 Cheeky Chicken: House made free range breast fillet schnitzel (oven baked), Jimmy’s slaw, Swiss cheese ($18.00)

It was $17.24pp between my friend and I when we split the sandwiches between us!

REVIEW: ♥ Our favourite was the Katz Deli Tribute! The pastrami was rich, coming textually across very similar to roast meat. Jimmy’s sauce includes a mustard component which I think is a great intense, rich compliment to the meat. The sandwich size is perfect to take bites out of. My friend reckons he could smash the New Yorker (half a kilo) on another day! The additional deli chips were so crunchy and perfectly salted. 🧂

❌ Least favourite was the Cheeky Chicken. The bread used was a little dry, while the oven baked chicken had all its juices leeched out from the breast. Slaw was a refreshing, creamy ray of joy that tried (unsuccessfully) to provide life to the sahara desert. I would be down to buy the slaw separately!

🙋‍♂️ Service at Jimmy’s was bright and friendly. We opted to dine in, and were exposed to the warm inviting hospitality. Tap water was available inside, along with an additional sandwich box which served as our...

Went in to see what all the fuss was about this pastrami sandwich as it laid homage to NYs Katz's Deli. And to be honest, it outmatched my expectations. The only downside is, is that on social media, I've seen the sandwich loaded with pastrami, and mine didn't have that. Also, the coffee was not great. Other than that, a delicious sandwich. It's inspired me to try and replicate this at home.

Re-review. Okay Jimmy's Deli. I see you. I went this afternoon. I had the mammoth pastrami sandwich. I have to say between this and the standard Katz sandwich the monster version is actually better. It is richer, better balanced, you can taste that beautiful thick cut peppery pastrami better. The cheese just blends everything together. Word of advice...go on an empty stomach of you attempt to eat this. I left a third of a...

Wow! I have no other words to describe my experience eating at Jimmy's Deli. Oh my gosh their toasties and sandwiches were INSANE. Incredible value for money AND the portions and quality of ingredients is amazing. We ordered the normal size Reuben toastie, the beef short rib roll and the Steak Frites.

The Reuben was so perfectly toasted, crunchy, cheese, layered with a generous portion of beef and sauerkraut in the centre.

The beef short rib was HUGE and so incredible cooked, juicy and melting in your mouth with each bite, perfectly paired with tangy and crunchy coleslaw.

The Steak was cooked a wonderful medium rare, but the bread was little too crunchy for my liking. But overall all 3 sandwiches were incredibly worth it, so if you're in Yarraville, do yourself the favour and go visit...

Absolutely loved my ham and cheese toastie, the meatball sandwich was also fantastic. The portions are very generous and we struggled to finish (although of course ate it all 😅). There is limited indoor seating but there is more outside although it was very busy at Saturday lunch time. The staff were super lovely and we enjoyed watching all the orders being made, it's always good watching cheese turn gooey 😍. There is a step to get in the door so if you have accessibilty concerns you may need to bring a friend (although I'm sure the lovely staff would assist!).
