Guzman y Gomez - Hawthorn — Restaurant in Melbourne

Normally we like the food from here, but today's order was an almost inedible mess. The kids meal had a plain cheese quesadilla that was burned so much it was stiff with a soggy centre and the chips were cold and randomly thrown into the bag. 2 out of 3 lots of tacos were so messy( yes, taco's are meant to be messy-when you eat them. They're not meant to look like they've already been eaten!), and therefore almost impossible to eat. It was like it had all been thrown into the box and then shaken up! Next was the burrito bowl-it was the worst I've ever had. The "shredded" beef was in such large chunks that I didn't end up eating it, the corn chips were soft and tasted like cardboard and it was just a mushy mess. I think they also forgot the sour cream they charged for, although it may have been on there. It was hard to tell! So disappointed...I normally love burrito bowls. Lastly, the churros-how can you mess up churros right? Well they were definitely messed up-over-fried and so much cinnamon sugar on them that they looked burned. I bit into it and coughed because it was such a thick layer. I don't know what happened tonight but will not be getting from here again. Ever. It was that bad. A complete waste of money which is so disappointing because I used to love the taco's from Guzman. Side notes: -We picked the food up so it was not in the transportation that this happened. This was an actual quality problem. It wasn't like we had it delivered and it got thrown around a little. -When we went in to pick the food up, someone's order was there waiting. A staff member knocked it over onto the ground completely upside down, and instead of checking it he gave it straight to a driver. A little bit of food fell onto the ground (lettuce, cheese, etc) when this happened so obviously the food spilled. I would have hated to be the person having that delivered! Not that ours was any better actually..But it shows the level of care and service...

This is the worst GYG I have ever been to... in 3 states and as a regular Mexican fan and who have lived in California, this is the pits... tonight's effort was the final straw as the beans in my burrito were old and had an aftertaste and smell to them, the rice was not seasoned, at all and the chicken was cold, the salsa bland and full of tomato cores. They do some sauces you can take for your meal, the medium sauce, a Chippotle medium hot sauce appeared to be watered down and without flavour or substance, the Jalapeno sauce, a green more mild sauce was thick with an oily film on top of it.. My guess is that they haven't been changed for a while and the green sauce is near the bottom of the container and has never been stirred regularly and the medium sauce has been topped up and left to sit, again without stirring to en;sure a blend....there have some occasions that the medium sauce has been inedible due to it being a very hot sludge that wasn't looked after during its time in the container.... Never again!! Some GYG's are great tho too, we used the Harbour Town GYG on the Gold Coast and they were great to deal with and good food most...

Food was good , I ordered my food then I sit for 5 minutes on the table when I didn’t get call of my ordet I went to service table and ask for my order one of the girl said it’s coming then I wait another ten minutes but again I showed my order to one girl who took my order she gave my food which was there frim last 10 to 15 minutes and when I asked her that she said she called my order number 4 5 times but she was taking order that time and didn’t come to that side even once. She lied straight to my face and she behaved very rude I was telling her you didn’t call it and she walked away very rudely and was pretending like she doesn’t care about order or the customer but the other girl she said sorry very nicely I was alright with my order being delayed or my food being cold but She behaved really rudely and this is not expected whem a person is waiting for his food for 15 minutes all the other customers got their food before me who ordered after me my order was 948 and they were serving 967 when I asked them about order waiting their nicely. It is really disappointing and and very unprofessional, unapologetic...
