How can you not fall in love with a place called ā€œLittle Localā€ when it’s your local (well not mine but my buddy who walked there and we dined together). Little Local is an old friend, a comfy place where you feel like the staff know you and the menu feeds your needs, even if it’s your first visit. My friend and I needed our catch up time and sat, chatted and dined for nearly two hours. The menu is simple and refreshingly unique. My friend had the eggs Benedict with asparagus and plenty of chipotle hollandaise. I had the chilli scrambled eggs which only the day before I had at another cafe. Little Local was twice the price but four times the flavour. Love that it’s wheelchair accessible including the toilet with a cute little note for the ā€œgentlemanā€ that will amuse you. Have dietary requirements? The staff are more than welcome to accommodate your needs if they can. You can dine indoors or out, both have their own ambience. I liked the indoors because of the artwork on the walls and the tempting Little Local travel mugs and other foodie treats on display. Also, come here for a takeaway coffee or a preprepared / wrap / sandwich / snack. Shout out to Robbie and his team for the friendliest customer service and for creating an inviting, warm-hearted and cozy place for long time friends to catch up. Parking is typical High Street Northcote - wait and one will pop up, although there are time limits but no parking fees (yet). In summary - Little Local is the kinda place I like to support because it’s not pretentious or trendy - it’s authentic and unique. Or maybe being authentic and unique is trendy? Either way, highly recommend. Thanks to all the staff from front of house to the kitchen crew for a...

Upon visiting this 'little gem' recently, I needed to see if the website had a review section. I am verrry pleased it does. The owner and staff were amazing especially after chatting ŕe their struggles during Covid. Wow,,,, what soldiers they are and congratulations to you for succeeding to 'the other-side'. I took the gamble and travelled to Melbourne from Central Victoria with a small group of girlfriends. Yummmm, I ordered the delish Fritters and my friends ordered Eggs Benny. While one GF was salivating watching her dish arrive with fresh salmon, the staff member introduced himself saying, my name is Robbie, the owner and we love overhearing customers saying that this place is 'cool' and great to see and hear the patrons smiling and laughing. We said it was our first visit and how Northcote has retained its brilliant atmosphere. I think the weather was about 35 degrees but we opted to sit outside in the fresh air. The coffee was scrumptious and looking at the queue from the Barista window,,, this showed me, many regulars obviously happy to wait and chat while the staff zoomed around to keep the wait to a minimum. Good for you guys n dolls at the Little Local. We commend you and yes,,,,, we have planned our return around the Aus Day Weekend. BTW, we took numerous Take Aways with us (cookies and danishes) for the trip home. Everyone has their thoughts but seriously, give these brave hard working people a break. Five star all...

Little Local is just the best - friendliest staff, magic coffee, tasty treats and good tunes. It is hard to believe the recent negative and unfair reviews regarding mask wearing. On a number of occasions over the last few weeks I have seen Robbie and the team (especially the allegedly 'rude blonde lady' - who is in fact not at all rude and is amazing at her job!) demonstrating incredible patience, diplomacy and stoicism in dealing with often aggressive people who refuse to wear masks nearly two years into a global pandemic. Even if you have a legitimate exemption, it's not fair to expect that you should not be asked for evidence that this is the case (this is not discrimination, it's a legal requirement). It's obvious some people just falsely and cavalierly claim to have an exemption because they're not willing to take a simple step to protect themselves and others around them.

I'm sure I'm not alone in really appreciating the Little Local team for all their altruistc efforts to keep us safe, well and caffeinated on a daily basis. Everyone in hospo is doing their best under extremely stressful conditions, made unnecessarily worse by some truly unreasonable/unbearable people who should start making their own international roast at home. Thanks...

A lovely little place with nice staff. I had a latte which was quite good and my friend had a soy latte, unfortunately it was a little lumpy, the milk might have been heated too much but she said it was still nice. The brekky waffle was a real delight. Not too sweet or heavy and the serving of fruit, syrup and nutella cream was generous and delicious. My friend had the eggs Benedict which she really enjoyed. It comes with kimchi! The only downside was that service was a little slow and we suspect that Eggs Benedict may have been waiting at the pass for too long as the eggs and ham were cold, it was still good though! Despite a couple of hiccups, would definitely recommend this place for their coffee and food! Very convenient to get to, too. They're pretty much next to the 86 tram (stop 32) and walking distance from Northcote Station.

New cafe in the crowded High Street market. It’s a good entrant that’ll help keep the established cafes well on their toes. It’s a bright, attractive modern fit out here. It was a most pleasant spot to sit with lovely natural light streaming in from the north and east. If only you could turn on this weather and sit in an area as good as this all the time. My coffee here was exceptional. Faultless in ever respect. Great beans handled with great respect. As good a brew as I’ve had anywhere on the planet. Service came with a big beaming smile which was nice. They applied a holiday surcharge here today without any prior warning so it made it a pretty expensive coffee. That seemed a little cheeky. Despite that, I enjoyed the experience and would happily come back.
