Little Mexico — Restaurant in Melbourne

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was nothing short of amazing, and the service provided by the waiters was top-notch. However, there was one aspect of my experience that left a sour taste in my mouth and ultimately affected my overall rating.

Let's start with the positives. The culinary delights offered at this restaurant were truly exceptional. Each dish was crafted with care and precision, and the flavors were simply mouthwatering. From the appetizers to the main courses, every bite was a burst of deliciousness. The presentation of the food was also impeccable, demonstrating the skill and artistry of the chefs in the kitchen.

The service provided by the waiters was also noteworthy. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt well taken care of. From recommendations on the menu to prompt refills of drinks, the wait staff was professional and efficient. Their friendly demeanor added to the overall pleasant dining experience.

Unfortunately, there was one blemish on an otherwise outstanding evening. A man, whom I assumed to be the owner, exhibited an extremely rude attitude when it came time for me to settle the bill. He was a short man, with a tea towel hanging out of his back pocket, and his poor attitude was evident from the moment I approached the counter. When I requested to split the bill, he threw the receipt at me and dismissively said, "Work it out yourself, we don't split bills."

This interaction left me feeling disheartened and disappointed. However, one of the young waiters, who had been serving me throughout the evening, noticed my frustration and stepped in to help. He willingly offered to assist me with paying for my meal, recognizing that I was leaving before the rest of my friends. His kindness and willingness to go the extra mile helped alleviate the negative impact of the owner's behavior.

In conclusion, this restaurant provided an incredible dining experience with amazing food and excellent service from the waiters. The exceptional culinary creations and attentive wait staff made the overall experience truly memorable. However, the rudeness displayed by the assumed owner when it came to settling the bill warrants a lower rating. Despite this unfortunate encounter, the actions of one young man who was happy to help with payment restored some faith in the establishment. Order: Chimichanga (mixtos), Trio Stooges, Quesadilla, Burrito Bowl x 2 (Vegan and Pulled Beef) + 5 Drinks

Order Cost PP (Avg): $33.20 (+/- $5) includes main meal with one drink

Ambiance: Was deceptive at the entrance, but was then lead through to the back where there was a large enclosed outdoor eating space with 7 large, nicely conditioned, picnic table sized tables, with a few other intimate tables as well. Very relaxed feel for birthday, or friends gathering and a friendly environment. Only downside, is that having a full house, we found we were shouting a lot to hear each other. But was forgivable, we had a great time.

Customer Service: Was amazingly good! We were checked on a few times to ensure our drinks [and then orders] were taken promptly (but it wasn’t pushy). The preparation time and delivery was within 20 minutes (even on as busy a night as this) AND within 3-4 minutes of me cleaning my plate, the plate was bussed and the offer for an additional food/drink was offered. Really well done.

Food: Presentation was excellent, taste was full of flavour and brilliant Mexican traditional colour. All of us were very full and satisfied by the amount vs. the price. Note: It’s was a nice little welcome to have the free small (but flavoursome) corn chips and spicy salsa as a taster – like a little surprise snack. Great touch.

Menu: Not only do they have the traditional Mexican staples – but there are some excellent flair with some nice spins and tasting selections, with an amazing vegan menu to boot. Additionally, you will find a vast array of margaritas and cocktails to inspire you – but they will boost your cost – as they should.

We all had a fantastic time here tonight overall, and will recommending this place to everyone and definitely be coming...

We came here for my sisters birthday last night. Our booking was 5.30 and we were told that we had to be done by 7.15 for next booking. Which would have been fine, however something went wrong with our order and then we were forced out not long after we got our food.

Firstly it was after 6pm before they even took our food orders (530 booking so nobody seemed in a rush at thst point). The entree's came out in a reasonable time. When the waitress collected the plates she asked if we were ready for our mains. I said yes. By about 6.50 they hadn't arrived. Another waitress came to check that we didnt need anything else, we mentioned that our mains hadn't come yet. There was some sort of stuff up and they didn't have our mains order! They sorted it out and brought our our food quite quickly after that however we had no more than 10-15 mins to eat them before being asked to leave. We had to rush our food and a couple of people on our table hadn't even finished their food and drinks. A couple mins later we were told again by someone else that there was another booking and we needed to leave. This was absolutely disgusting to rush us when it was your mistake. Our table spent over $300 there and that's how you treat us. Surely you could've asked the next table to wait 5-10 more mins but everyone was do pushy for us to leave so quickly after getting our food.

Just for perspective, we were there for at least 90 mins before the mains arrived, we had to rush them with pushy waiters telling us to leave. Really poor experience. There was no real apology and you still made us pay the bill in full. It's a shame because the food was great. We still don't know why or who stuffed up our order but we had 3-4 different people attend our table during the sitting so things felt all...
