Before I start, let me explain my review. I had previously left a review about this establishment that was a fair and honest personal account and evaluation following an event. The days that followed after the review went "live" my workplace started to recieve harrassing phone calls from the Loop staff trying to find out who had put the review up. An email from the Loop was also sent to my workplace stating that I was rude as well as that a couple of patrons from our group were demanding. This email was followed up by a phone from the Loop to my boss accusing me of aggresive behavior at said event. This couldn't be further from the truth.
As you will see by reading my review below it should not have provoked such behaviour from the Loop.
Below is the review that I was forced to remove:
"The staff provided excellent service throughout the event. However, the organization of the function itself was a bit chaotic. Our group was merged with another on the same level, leading to a cramped space. Surprisingly, they didn't accept cash, which inadvertently saved me a significant amount, considering the usual high markup on drink prices. I'm uncertain how my $80 was spent. Additionally, there was an unfortunate incident where someone outside of our group vomited in the toilets, and it seemed that no one took responsibility for cleaning it up. Despite the challenges, I must commend the outstanding performance of the staff; they truly were the highlight of the night." I wouldn't organize a function here there are better venues around.
I would like to add to this review.
On arrival people didn't get the cocktails they were meant to provide, I don't know why. In the email that was sent to my work it was stated that I kept going up to the bar demanding they swap out the cocktails with something else. Interesting, because I don't drink cocktails and I didn't hear any of the other staff demanding cocktails be swapped for other cocktails. The sad part is the review I left was in regards to the spew that was left in the men's toilets as other people will atest to. It was disgusting and being told "it's not my problem" by staff is fine if its a pub because I guess that's what you'd expect. When you pay for a function and this happens and it's not even your crew that does it, that's not right.
That the Loop believe they have the right to go to such lengths with a person's workplace, following publishing an honest review, to have it removed,...
Read moreLast night, I attended a paramedics function at Loop Rooftop Bar. While finger food was being served periodically, I was near the kitchen area where a chef placed a tray of chips. Assuming it was for the guests, I took one. The chef immediately slapped my hand and shouted, “What are you doing? This is not for you!” I apologized and even offered to pay for the chips, explaining that I thought it was part of the finger food being served.
Instead of accepting my apology, he escalated the situation, saying, “I’ve never seen something like this in my life. You guys are disgusting,” clearly targeting my race and background. This discriminatory and offensive remark was completely unacceptable. When I calmly told him his behavior was out of line, he threatened to call security to remove me for “intoxication”—an absurd and baseless claim, as I had not consumed any alcohol.
This was one of the most humiliating and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever encountered. No guest should have to endure such disrespect and hostility, especially at a professional function. The chef, identifiable by his beret hat, demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism and instead exhibited blatant prejudice.
I strongly urge management to investigate this incident and take immediate corrective action. Staff must be properly trained to treat all guests with dignity and respect. This kind of behavior is entirely unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of your...
Read moreCame with a booking for a nice dinner and drinks at the rooftop section level 3. This was meant to be a special Birthday evening for my better half. Setting is very nice, and good views. That’s where it ended.
Security guard at the level 3 door stopped us, told us to go sit at a specific table of his choosing, took me 3 times to tell him we have a booking. He told us to “go find our own booked table”.
Ordered drinks at the bar from a bloke called “Saf” or “Sap”. He was sarcastic, impolite, unprofessional and clearly didn’t seem like he wanted to work there. Proceeded to make us some disappointingly average cocktails at $24 each. End product was neither good looking or tasting. Then proceeded to make a few snark comments before I paid and took my drinks.
Promptly finished the drinks and left. The best part of Loop Roof experience was the older gentlemen (security) who was standing next to the front door at ground level. He was hilarious, friendly and had a short but pleasant conversation with him on the way out.
Wouldn’t recommend this place, particularly for a special occasion or event. For a venue that averages $24 for a cocktail, one would expect a better service and a better product. A sour start to the night was redeemed by another venue 2 minutes walk down the road. I would gladly recommend five alternative places within a five-minute walk that offer superior experiences without the...
